We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. I am wishing that we all come together and work towards a country whereby no one's right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness is hindered by lack of access to health care. An unhealthy population costs us far more than figuring out how to set up a system that prevents unnecessary disease, disability and death.Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievancesAgain, I am hoping that we can learn to keep open minds, listening to each other and seeking out facts rather than trying to suppress, denigrate or threaten those who have opinions that differ from our own. We can respectfully disagree without resorting to such tactics. Our politicians and lobbyists and pundits will always simplify and spin opinions to suit their own needs, but we can ourselves be more diligent about rooting out what the implications are for our own lives and those who we serve in our practices. We need to look at the details in policies that affect our lives and our practices together and work together towards improvements.May you enjoy this day -- which is going to be quite hot here in New York City.Best regards, E.
