If I was content eating bugs and squirrels and rabbits I'd bet I could get enough protein in my backyard in that amount of time. A lot of tribes used fish traps too, and if a stream isn't overfished (as they all are now) then catching fish and crawdads is easy. One trip I was on we gathered food from tidepools as the Indians did, and it was amazing how much was there. Plus the beach was literally covered in oysters, and there were tons of mussels on every rock (not to mention barnacles and other clingy animals).
