Guest guest
it seems with seed sna nuts that they taste better if added after the grains etc have been cooked. Toss them thru at the end. However some sources now say it is better to soak seed and nuts. So a solution to this is to soak a big batch in salty water overnight. Drain. Allow to sprout - some varieties do not, just swell and then lightly toast in a very low oven tll dry (can drizzle some shoyu on them but can already be salty enough with the soaking liquid) or in a dehydrator then use as required. If not doing this, then just lightly toast the seeds or nut with or without salt or shoyu or just cook in..... purpleveg wrote: Well, today I'm soaking my short grain and wild rice mixture. I will put pumpkin seeds in when I cook it too. Hm, should I have soaked them in too? The Pirello's were on the macro cruise and seemed really happy and healthy and very much in love. They host some vacations and are having one come up in Tuscany I believe any day now. Guest guest
Which seeds and nuts sprout and which don't, does anybody know? I soak and toast seeds/nuts separately, but then cook them in together with my rice. I feel much better if I soak nuts and seeds. Sometimes with a touch of vinegar, sometimes with a touch of salt. Guest guest
funny you should mention it, I forgot to toast the seeds and put them in my rice! But since you mention putting them in after maybe today I will actually toast them and then stir them into my finished product. I like the rice with some wild rice mixed in, nice taste. Marlie likes it too which is good. She loves to eat most of the miso soup everyday which I'm happy about. I heat up the rice with water and wakame and miso and we eat that in a different dish than the veggies. Reggie > > > Well, today I'm soaking my short grain and wild rice mixture.
