I am not quite sure as to whether „kurzer Nachweis” actually means a “quick

and dirty method” of detection. The first idea coming to my head when

reading your text extracts is that antibody detection is possible only for a

short period of time.

My two cents

Betreff: DE>EN kurzer Nachweis

I have a document that describes the use of immunological reagents, and am

stuck on the best way to render " kurzer Nachweis " in this context. I know

that it means something like a " quick and dirty " test carried out in a way

that might not be very accurate or reliable, but can't quite come up with a

good equivalent.

This is one of several reasons given to explain why the test in question

might not give a proper result.

The source (Anti-XXX is the antibody designation):

kein Anti-XXX Nachweis während der Primärinfektion (verzögerte Antwort,

**kurzer Nachweis**, niedrig-positiv oder keine Bildung)

My draft:

no anti-XXX detection during the primary infection (delayed response,

**kurzer Nachweis**, low-positive or no production)

Any ideas would be much appreciated.
