KEN:

One difinition of GALENICS is: denoting a medicine made of natural rather

than syntetic components.

An other definition is to relating to the 2nd century Greek physician Galen

or his methods.

Hi all,

A question just arose on the Patent list about whether " galenics " is a term

in common usage in the pharmaceutical industry, and if not, what the best

English equivalent might be. Pschyrembel defines it as: (engl.) galenics; auch

pharmaz. Technologie; Wissenschaft von der Zubereitung von Arzneimitteln

aus Arznei- u. Hilfsstoffen.

pharmaceutical compounding?
