Hi : Well ---- you certainly have my sympathy. Believe me - I know what that knee pain is like and I DON'T LIKE IT. I am so glad I had the surgery and I am doing VERY WELL. The most pain I have now is when I sit down and especially when I get up - it hurts a lot more if I have to sit down too low. I try to always pick a spot that is high and preferably something to help me pull myself up.

I hope you can get some relief - Shirley from Southern Illinois

Dear Hearts:

I know I probably shouldn't burden you with this. I just feel like I wish to. Perhaps it just a sick way of getting sympathy.

,

I am so sorry your knees are giving you such trouble. The nurse in me wants to give all sorts of advice, and the fellow knee sufferer wants to give you much sympathy and empathy. I understand perfectly about the getting up or down being the worst in terms of pain. I hope it goes away soon. Saying little prayers for your knees......

(OT) 's knees

Dear Hearts:

I know I probably shouldn't burden you with this. I just feel like I wish to. Perhaps it just a sick way of getting sympathy. I told Sondy yesterday. I said I probably shouldn't tell you this because it seems like my knees get worse after I tell you they are better but they have felt so much better these past couple of days. Wouldn't you know it. When I got out of bed everything was just fine but the first time I started to set down I almost yelled, my left knee hurt so bad. It hurts when I flex it with my weight on it. Otherwise it feels OK. I have been working in the yard/garden a lot but am always aware of my knees and making sure not to do anything that causes pain. The only thing I can think of that might have put to much strain on it was dragging some small logs across the yard. We had this dead tree standing in the back yard and I decided I should cut it down so I could determine where it would fall. If I waited for it to fall naturally it could have damaged our house or my storage barn. I knew it was only a matter of time so I dropped it yesterday right where I planned to drop it. I cut it into manageable pieces and cleaned it up. You would think that if dragging the logs strained my knee, It would have been both of them. My right one feels just like it has been feeling. Light pain most of the time. Not the yelling kind. Well, I guess this is enough to get me some sympathy.

, I'm so sorry you're having this knee pain. I can imagine the frustration it gives someone as active and motivated as yourself. Please take it easy, baby that knee back to health so you can get back to those marathons.

Take care

Elaine

, you silly thing, of course you should tell us about your aches

and pains. I'm thinking your knee is telling you to take it easy for a

couple of days on the gardening and tree cutting and such and give your

body a chance to recover. I hope you'll do that, and I sure hope you're

feeling better soon.
