Guest guest
Hi Ladies! PTP.....I have a mom who just had her 3rd baby one month ago. I've been working with her since baby was born with breastfeeding. She doesn't think she's making enough milk for her daughter. She states her daughter drinks 2 oz of formula after every feeding. I witnessed breastfeeding a couple of times, latch is good, sucking and swallowing are heard, baby is voiding and stooling, and gaining weight. I encouraged her to breastfed often, and pump to help build up milk supply. She would love to start storing breastmilk in order to go back to work in about 3 weeks. She wants to nurse at home and supplement while she's at work. I suggested Fenugreek, and after talking to her doctor she said she would try it. Little bit of history on mom, pregnancy was good, no problems, this was her 3rd c/s. She is using a double medula pump and only getting 1-2 ounces at a time, which is the same thing that happened with her first 2 kids, she stopped nursing at 6 weeks, because she couldn't pump more than 1-2 ounces. When she's nursing, the other breast leaks. I did ask her about the supplementing, she states that baby still acts hungry after nursing 10 minutes on both sides, i asked if baby just wants to suck and told her that if you give the baby a bottle, shes gonna drink it! Any suggestions??? THANKS!
