As I mentioned in another post I Record of Lodoss War is a favorite of mine. Ghost in the Shell is another as is Akira. I tend to prefer the more series type of anime to the kid aimed at children like Sailor Moon and such.

Perhaps something we like in certain anime characters is that many of them are somehow apart from the world. Motako from Ghost in the Shell is a heavily cybered human woman who works for the police. She is so cybered, however, that she is skirting the legal limit which if exceeded would mean her execution. This puts her apart from the rest of humanity. Tetsuo from Akira was the kid who was pushed around and beaten up until the day he is taken to a labratory. He is them experimented on and vast power is awakened within him which he cannot control (and takes on a striking resemblance to Vegeta).

Perhaps the best example of this is the Xmen. They are all mutants. Mutants are feared and shunned by the rest of society. They are born with their powers and cannot help being what they are. Their powers set them apart from the rest of the world. The most extreme example of that would probably be Rogue. In the comics, her base power is as seen in the movie. When I was a teen a really could relate to her situation. She wanted to be around people but she couldn't because even the slightest touch could be fatal to them (in the comics the effect happened much faster than in the movie so even a casual brush would be enough). I watned to be around people but rather than my touch hurting them, it was their words and touch (hitting and such) that hurt me.

Dear Ilah, Besides the rurouni kenshin series that i probably

mentioned in an earlier post. I always feel like the rurouni " the

swordsman with no destiny " :). I like to use anime as a way to vent

from AS/NT miscommunications and fights so i like to think of the

anime girl as my mom who is constantly bickering in my face, lol, even

though she cares.I don't really have any girlfriends right now so i

don't have anyone to imagine. But aside from rurouni kenshin i like

to watch yu-gi-oh on channel 20 occasionally that's my favorite

anime cartoon on tv. I used to watch cartoons more often while

working on the internet but now i spend more time working on my

games during the 1-3:00 pm hour. I guess i kind of phased out of

it,lol. But anyways i'll let you go that's the latest on things, i

hope to hear from you soon, good luck in all you do.

Signed,

Greg
