Hi everyone,

Tomarrow is my grandson, Aidan's, first birthday. I

can't believe that it has already been a whole year! I

am able to reflect back to the day that he was born

and all the emotions, good and bad, that came with it.

Aidan is a fighter! And, I strongly believe that God

must have big plans for our little guy, or he would

have left us long ago.

Despite all of Aidan's medical problems, he is right

on track developmently. He loves to pull out the

kitchen drawer and play with the red knob on the flour

sifter! He will play with that knob forever! LOL He

also is making the clicking sounds with his tounge.

LOL I remember when my kids did that constantly all

day long! He has learned to stand on his own, although

I was with him all weekend and he wouldn't do it for

me! And he crawls everywhere!

Tomarrow, on Aidan's birthday, he will have skull

surgery. A bone has grown over his soft spot and they

have to scrape the bone away. There is a risk that

they could leave bone fragments in his brain. My son

is very scared that that might happen.

If you pray, please pray about this surgery. This will

be Aidan's 4th surgery in his little life. The first

was when he was born to repair his esophogus, the

second was to try to open his trache after 2 cardiac

arrests, the third was for a tracheotomy after he went

into cardiac arrest at my house and I had to give him

CPR.(That was my first time and hopefully my last),

and now he is due for the skull surgery. In August, we

are planning on heart surgery.

Thank you all for your support and prayers.

Happy Birthday Aidan. I am so sorry your grandson has to spend his first

birthday in the hospital. Try not to worry (impossible) and I will pray for

Aidan.

We just got through a heart surgery, so you bet that I will pray for Aidan for

his skull surgery. Good luck. He's quite a little guy!

Kristy,

Wow! One year old already! And he is standing too, that is great. Are

you absolutely sure he is one year old already? I am still thinking he is a

newborn! Time has a way of marching on! Please know that the Martz family

will be praying fervently for Aidan, and I thank you for letting us know so

that I can pray very specifically for him about this surgery. I pray for

the little guy all the time anyway, but it is great to be updated. Do

please let us know how things go for him when you have a chance. Poor dear

has been a real fighter! You are right, only heaven knows what is in store

for him. Take Care,

Bless Your Family,

Barb Martz
