Guest guest
Hi, Abijann. I'm not doin so peachy. I have a terrible pain in my left upper quad, and feel all queesy. Kind of dizzy and nauseated. We spent a couple of hours waiting at one ER, but they were full, so after awhile, Sharon is going to take me to another ER at a different hospital. I sure hope this isn't my spleen getting bigger. It's 16cm on the last scan. Good luck to your husband. I said a prayer for him. I'll say one for you too. There. You two are all prayed for by me., love, Bobby. Bob Thanks for thinking of us. My husband might be looking at more surgery and it is upsetting me very much. Things are not looking all that great. His medical supplier put us through the mill trying to get them set up with the insurance and doctors for these supplies. They drove everyone half nuts including us. We got one go of supplies from them and they called and said they were dropping us because they weren't making any money on the supplies we were getting and they were not going to carry them anymore. SMILE...I just about could of strangled them. For a whole month they pester and complained and whined about the forms not being filled out right from the doctor office for these supplies and I ended up trying to be a middle man between them all. Finally, thought we had this all cleared up and now we are back to square one...I think the doctor office is going to kill me. I've been having migraines but there isn't much I can do about them. I sure hope you are doing better and that your daughter is getting well. I know you have quite another hurdle to go over with Sharon being operated on. I want you to know you guys are in my prayers and I hope Sharon does so well and has an angel watching over her through everything. We never know what life is going to throw at us...but, at least we know that this life isn't the end. <!-- #ygrp-mlmsg {font-size:13px;font-family:arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif;} #ygrp-mlmsg table {font-size:inherit;font:100%;} #ygrp-mlmsg select, input, textarea {font:99% arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif;} #ygrp-mlmsg pre, code {font:115% monospace;} #ygrp-mlmsg * {line-height:1.22em;} #ygrp-text{ font-family:Georgia; } #ygrp-text p{ margin:0 0 1em 0;} #ygrp-tpmsgs{ font-family:Arial; clear:both;} #ygrp-vitnav{ padding-top:10px;font-family:Verdana;font-size:77%;margin:0;} #ygrp-vitnav a{ padding:0 1px;} #ygrp-actbar{ clear:both;margin:25px 0;white-space:nowrap;color:#666;text-align:right;} #ygrp-actbar .left{ float:left;white-space:nowrap;} ..bld{font-weight:bold;} #ygrp-grft{ font-family:Verdana;font-size:77%;padding:15px 0;} #ygrp-ft{ font-family:verdana;font-size:77%;border-top:1px solid #666; padding:5px 0; } #ygrp-mlmsg #logo{ padding-bottom:10px;} #ygrp-vital{ background-color:#e0ecee;margin-bottom:20px;padding:2px 0 8px 8px;} #ygrp-vital #vithd{ font-size:77%;font-family:Verdana;font-weight:bold;color:#333;text-transform:upp\ ercase;} #ygrp-vital ul{ padding:0;margin:2px 0;} #ygrp-vital ul li{ list-style-type:none;clear:both;border:1px solid #e0ecee; } #ygrp-vital ul li .ct{ font-weight:bold;color:#ff7900;float:right;width:2em;text-align:right;padding-ri\ ght:.5em;} #ygrp-vital ul li .cat{ font-weight:bold;} #ygrp-vital a { text-decoration:none;} #ygrp-vital a:hover{ text-decoration:underline;} #ygrp-sponsor #hd{ color:#999;font-size:77%;} #ygrp-sponsor #ov{ padding:6px 13px;background-color:#e0ecee;margin-bottom:20px;} #ygrp-sponsor #ov ul{ padding:0 0 0 8px;margin:0;} #ygrp-sponsor #ov li{ list-style-type:square;padding:6px 0;font-size:77%;} #ygrp-sponsor #ov li a{ text-decoration:none;font-size:130%;} #ygrp-sponsor #nc { background-color:#eee;margin-bottom:20px;padding:0 8px;} #ygrp-sponsor .ad{ padding:8px 0;} #ygrp-sponsor .ad #hd1{ font-family:Arial;font-weight:bold;color:#628c2a;font-size:100%;line-height:122%\ ;} #ygrp-sponsor .ad a{ text-decoration:none;} #ygrp-sponsor .ad a:hover{ text-decoration:underline;} #ygrp-sponsor .ad p{ margin:0;} o {font-size:0;} ..MsoNormal { margin:0 0 0 0;} #ygrp-text tt{ font-size:120%;} blockquote{margin:0 0 0 4px;} ..replbq {margin:4;} --> ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ No need to miss a message. Guest guest
Wow. I'm curious how you are able to get power to your computer? . Last year Sharon and I bought a state of the art laptop, our first computer. I also bought Pinnacle Studio, a movie making program. It was around one hundred dollars(the movie making program). It takes quit a bit of memory to run it, a minimum of 512 mg of ram, but we got 2 gigs of ram. So it works very well, but was very challenging to learn. Now It's like second nature, but when I have memory loss, BIG problems happen. You would not want to trust me with your computer. I delete things. I spend a lot of hours backing up onto disk. It is worth it. I film with small m-peg 4 cameras, one a regular samsung digimax, but the other a tiny dxg digital video camera that was dirt cheap and uses SD memory cards. I love this hobby. It also alows me to remember things, and to realize the importance of staying on my medications. There are many times I don't remember saying something, but the video doesn't lie. Most people with a fairly new computer do not even realize that they have a program called windows movie maker, and it is a fairly easy way to make a DVD. Bob We lost everything 110 in our home a few years back when a stone underground cut through our electric wire leading to our home. It was never replaced cause the electric company and the homeowners insurance would not cover any damage caused by artificial electric problems. Maybe sometimes again. Thanks for offering, though. Boy, you must really be up to date on all kinds of special equipment. You make up your own DVD's now? <!-- #ygrp-mlmsg {font-size:13px;font-family:arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif;} #ygrp-mlmsg table {font-size:inherit;font:100%;} #ygrp-mlmsg select, input, textarea {font:99% arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif;} #ygrp-mlmsg pre, code {font:115% monospace;} #ygrp-mlmsg * {line-height:1.22em;} #ygrp-text{ font-family:Georgia; } #ygrp-text p{ margin:0 0 1em 0;} #ygrp-tpmsgs{ font-family:Arial; clear:both;} #ygrp-vitnav{ padding-top:10px;font-family:Verdana;font-size:77%;margin:0;} #ygrp-vitnav a{ padding:0 1px;} #ygrp-actbar{ clear:both;margin:25px 0;white-space:nowrap;color:#666;text-align:right;} #ygrp-actbar .left{ float:left;white-space:nowrap;} ..bld{font-weight:bold;} #ygrp-grft{ font-family:Verdana;font-size:77%;padding:15px 0;} #ygrp-ft{ font-family:verdana;font-size:77%;border-top:1px solid #666; padding:5px 0; } #ygrp-mlmsg #logo{ padding-bottom:10px;} #ygrp-vital{ background-color:#e0ecee;margin-bottom:20px;padding:2px 0 8px 8px;} #ygrp-vital #vithd{ font-size:77%;font-family:Verdana;font-weight:bold;color:#333;text-transform:upp\ ercase;} #ygrp-vital ul{ padding:0;margin:2px 0;} #ygrp-vital ul li{ list-style-type:none;clear:both;border:1px solid #e0ecee; } #ygrp-vital ul li .ct{ font-weight:bold;color:#ff7900;float:right;width:2em;text-align:right;padding-ri\ ght:.5em;} #ygrp-vital ul li .cat{ font-weight:bold;} #ygrp-vital a { text-decoration:none;} #ygrp-vital a:hover{ text-decoration:underline;} #ygrp-sponsor #hd{ color:#999;font-size:77%;} #ygrp-sponsor #ov{ padding:6px 13px;background-color:#e0ecee;margin-bottom:20px;} #ygrp-sponsor #ov ul{ padding:0 0 0 8px;margin:0;} #ygrp-sponsor #ov li{ list-style-type:square;padding:6px 0;font-size:77%;} #ygrp-sponsor #ov li a{ text-decoration:none;font-size:130%;} #ygrp-sponsor #nc { background-color:#eee;margin-bottom:20px;padding:0 8px;} #ygrp-sponsor .ad{ padding:8px 0;} #ygrp-sponsor .ad #hd1{ font-family:Arial;font-weight:bold;color:#628c2a;font-size:100%;line-height:122%\ ;} #ygrp-sponsor .ad a{ text-decoration:none;} #ygrp-sponsor .ad a:hover{ text-decoration:underline;} #ygrp-sponsor .ad p{ margin:0;} o {font-size:0;} ..MsoNormal { margin:0 0 0 0;} #ygrp-text tt{ font-size:120%;} blockquote{margin:0 0 0 4px;} ..replbq {margin:4;} --> ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Take the Internet to Go: Yahoo!Go puts the Internet in your pocket: mail, news, photos & more. http://mobile.yahoo.com/go?refer=1GNXIC
Guest guest
Having you around makes me feel better.:-) Actually now that I remembered who was spoken to by the ER doc, and that it was a two year resident, whom is going to hear from us through the hospital admin., I feel a lot better. Bob There are two blood tests to check for pancreatitis and that is the amylase and lipase levels. The marker for pancreatic cancer that they use is CA19-9. I wish there was some way the doctors could make you more comfortable. This constant stress and getting you upset, isn't helping you heal and feel better. <!-- #ygrp-mlmsg {font-size:13px;font-family:arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif;} #ygrp-mlmsg table {font-size:inherit;font:100%;} #ygrp-mlmsg select, input, textarea {font:99% arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif;} #ygrp-mlmsg pre, code {font:115% monospace;} #ygrp-mlmsg * {line-height:1.22em;} #ygrp-text{ font-family:Georgia; } #ygrp-text p{ margin:0 0 1em 0;} #ygrp-tpmsgs{ font-family:Arial; clear:both;} #ygrp-vitnav{ padding-top:10px;font-family:Verdana;font-size:77%;margin:0;} #ygrp-vitnav a{ padding:0 1px;} #ygrp-actbar{ clear:both;margin:25px 0;white-space:nowrap;color:#666;text-align:right;} #ygrp-actbar .left{ float:left;white-space:nowrap;} ..bld{font-weight:bold;} #ygrp-grft{ font-family:Verdana;font-size:77%;padding:15px 0;} #ygrp-ft{ font-family:verdana;font-size:77%;border-top:1px solid #666; padding:5px 0; } #ygrp-mlmsg #logo{ padding-bottom:10px;} #ygrp-vital{ background-color:#e0ecee;margin-bottom:20px;padding:2px 0 8px 8px;} #ygrp-vital #vithd{ font-size:77%;font-family:Verdana;font-weight:bold;color:#333;text-transform:upp\ ercase;} #ygrp-vital ul{ padding:0;margin:2px 0;} #ygrp-vital ul li{ list-style-type:none;clear:both;border:1px solid #e0ecee; } #ygrp-vital ul li .ct{ font-weight:bold;color:#ff7900;float:right;width:2em;text-align:right;padding-ri\ ght:.5em;} #ygrp-vital ul li .cat{ font-weight:bold;} #ygrp-vital a { text-decoration:none;} #ygrp-vital a:hover{ text-decoration:underline;} #ygrp-sponsor #hd{ color:#999;font-size:77%;} #ygrp-sponsor #ov{ padding:6px 13px;background-color:#e0ecee;margin-bottom:20px;} #ygrp-sponsor #ov ul{ padding:0 0 0 8px;margin:0;} #ygrp-sponsor #ov li{ list-style-type:square;padding:6px 0;font-size:77%;} #ygrp-sponsor #ov li a{ text-decoration:none;font-size:130%;} #ygrp-sponsor #nc { background-color:#eee;margin-bottom:20px;padding:0 8px;} #ygrp-sponsor .ad{ padding:8px 0;} #ygrp-sponsor .ad #hd1{ font-family:Arial;font-weight:bold;color:#628c2a;font-size:100%;line-height:122%\ ;} #ygrp-sponsor .ad a{ text-decoration:none;} #ygrp-sponsor .ad a:hover{ text-decoration:underline;} #ygrp-sponsor .ad p{ margin:0;} o {font-size:0;} ..MsoNormal { margin:0 0 0 0;} #ygrp-text tt{ font-size:120%;} blockquote{margin:0 0 0 4px;} ..replbq {margin:4;} --> ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Got a little couch potato? Guest guest
Abijann, it's really great to hear from you. I hope you can stay around. He SSDI is going to remember me when I get done. Ardis was able to win her case with a good lawer, and I am either in so much pain, nauseated or confused that The days are all melting together, and someone suggested to throw up on the interviewer, so I might just do that, although these days you might get a felony charge for it. Haha. Any way, I've been just miserable, but - see no reason to get upset, its not really in my hands any way, and I expect there will be more than a few dissapointments on this ride, and a wild one it has been! Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile Bob I sure hope you are going to appeal that decision with the SS. I am finding out that it is getting harder to get SS because they don't have enough workers anymore to go over all the claims. I read where they said that if the form is incomplete or have any questions regarding whether or not people should be on it, it is put aside because it takes a long time to process. Well, I'm finally back here again. I don't know for how long. Still been feeling really tired and run down. I haven't got a chance to read any of the posts, so I think I'll just start with the last few and go from here.

Guest guest
, my heart goes out to you. My husband works too and our insurance doubled in August from 200 to a little over 400 a month and this has really affected us as we were barely living from check to check as it was. As far as your prescriptions go you should ask your pharmacy about any federal programs that can help you pay the cost. 40 is a high copay for prescriptions. Mine is high like that too, but only on off list, non generic. Make sure your doctor is prescribing you only onlist meds. As far as doctor appointments go make it clear to your doctor you financial situation and that you cannot come in for any unnecessary reasons. My new primary understood this completely. Tell them that routine unnecesary visits are impossible on your financial situation. I dont know your age and if you can get help from ssdi or not. But do check with your local health dept and social services to see if they have any programs to help you. God Bless, Debra Abijann, it's really great to hear from you. I hope you can stay around. Guest guest
, your situation is much like mine except that I no longer work and am already on SSD -- have been for over 10 years with heart condition; my liver situation is just an added attraction. The mortgage payment on my house is far less than the minimal I could possibly rent. If my children were to do as they [jokingly] threaten and 'put me in a home,' the cost would be about 5x what current costs are and I'd share one room with . . . somebody. I am back to using the County Health System for health care. I'd gotten off it at daughter's insistence because though I was satisfied with it, she was not. Once the bills piled up, she dropped the subject, so I went back to County. If you are working, you may have a hard time qualifying, but it's worth a try if your county has such a system. There are still costs. I used to think " There's gotta be a way, " but there is no way. You want to pay your bills. The system is such that lots of us are in the same situation and there are reasons to believe it's by design. We have a bad name for not paying up. But the costs are out of all reason. Try not to think about those corporate CEOs and their millions. Pay what you can. Believe me, the medical providers have back-up for when their patients don't/can't pay. It's the patients who have no back-up. I have come to the realization that we are not supposed to be able to make it. Guest guest
Hi, Abijann. Thank you for asking. I am just exausted from the pain. Sharon is going to try to lobby our pain doc for an increase. I don't have any patience to do it because I can't communicate very well in prson or on the phone. I think I'm just dreaming all of this. But the pain reminds me that its real. I tried to vacuum this afternoon, and it just kicked my ass. I hope he will write me for some extra doses. This morning I slept till 11:00, so I will be able to split up all the morning doses to make tommorrow's doses fatter. I just don't sleep in till 11 every day, and somtimes I'll be up all night hurting, and there is only what I was prescribed. Sharon isn't even thinking of having any more surgery. The operation was only a sucsess if you count living, and no major complications. The 5 year headache is still there. Thing is, we've met a slew of other chiarians, and only a select few have the surgery stop the pain. The rest suffer even after the surgery. How are you and your husband? Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile Bob How has your rib been doing? I sure hope you are not in pain now. Was the rib completely broken or was it fractured? How is your little wifey doing....I hope that she doesn't have to have more surgery. I don't get time to read all the past posts. Everyone here really went to town on posting after I had left. Guest guest
Oh, Bob, how disturbing! I thought that once Sharon had her surgery, the cause of the pain would be gone, so the pain would be gone. Is there another cause of the pain that the doctors overlook because they don't look further than the one problem? There I go again, thinking all problems must be solved. I'm hoping for you and Sharon that your pain decreases and you can be more comfortable. Old Bob How has your rib been doing? I sure hope you are not in pain now. Guest guest
Good morning . Well, from the perspective that when we were told of her diagnosis, and then sought a second opinion, how devastating that was, this is not that bad. Our original plan was a trip to the Barrow neurological inst. In Pheonix, but we drug our heels. We later learned from a friend we have come to know through Sharons blog that that might have been a disaster. This friend had surgery to correct the exact same problem at the Barrow and was so severely butchered that she has had to undergo 12 additional surgeries. She was eventually treated at the Chiari institute in Long island, and is never going to be the same. Her blog is at http://chiarian.blogspot.com/ We have grown very fond of this woman and to hear her story is very chilling indeed. She is a mother of two and a wife of an Arizona highway patrolman. Sharon , as it turns out made a significant decsion by not going to Pheonix. She had her surgery by the best man outside of long island, and they are calling Aurora, Colorado the 'Chiari institute of the west' in the Chiari world. For any new comers, My wife has Chiari malformation, and a blog at http://headsaga.blogspot.com Things could be worse. Guest guest
Oh wow! She sounds so upbeat. That's wonderful in her situation. Sometimes it makes a difference as to outcome and I sure hope hers is good. And with all her physical problems the insurance, too. I can see how you've become fond of her. With all this on her and her daughter too. Sometimes we who have fewer problems don't realize how many there can be. Thanks for " introducing " me to her! Guest guest
Amen!!!!! So very true!!!! Pamela Bob It is pretty bad when someone, who is disabled, had to point out to people around them to treat them with respect and to not take advantage of them and be discriminated against because of the way they are. They are constantly put in a position on being on the defensive side. We are now going through something very similar to what you have gone through. And your right, it is their mistake and we are the ones suffering for it. I know that you and Sharon are very sick. That is why I consider you guys kindred spirits because we are also. I said to someone once: they may save your life, but you end up on the streets like bums when you leave...cause you will lose everything you worked for all your life to have...then wonder why you wanted to go on. The only thing in life that you can count on is the love you have and give to others...lack of money can't take that away.
