When the milk is cooked (heated) it kills the enzymes that help digest it so if the meat is cooked also, with it, our bodies have a hard time digesting. As for the soaking we think that it is predigesting the meat and then the milk product is discarded so then you are not " boiling in the mothers milk " . For the longest time we were told not to have meat with milk and we didn't... then after reading about the enzymes WE questioned it and looked it up in the bible our selves. And when it said don't boil the meat in the mothers milk it made since. So now we have raw milk soometimes with our meals. Just what we have come up with, Barb in Illinois soon to be in Mo. So, perhaps it is better to eat a raw fat with a cooked fat...to replace enzymes destroyed by the heat, which are still needed for digestion. Any comments? Now, I have the raw milk....if I could just figure out where to get grass-fed, chemical free meat in Southern Illinois (where grain fed is big business!) I tried the lamb at our local store, but it was terribly greasy. I know that Sally says in her book that most lamb is grass-fed, but I don't think that applies to Wal-Mart. And, no, I don't have any other stores which even sell lamb! Sometimes I miss ville..... Shalom! Carol

Guest guest
Dear Grace, I asked Enig (who is Jewish) about this and she says it has something to do with cruelty to animals. Milk with meat is used in all the other Semitic cuisines as far as I am aware. Sally
