Guest guest
Dear group members, My partner's doctor decided to put him on a combination including Zerit, Emtriva and Sustiva. This is after a year of not taking any meds and with current CD4 of around 500 and VL in excess of 300,000. Isn't there a better alternative to Zerit? How do I convince both my partner and his doctor that Zerit should not be a drug of first choice? I've read about Zerit and its possible role in lipodystrophy, but this time I need hard evidence, call it " a smoking gun, " something I can refer to, studies I can recommend for him to read, etc. I feel very strongly about it since I had facial wasting myself and my partner saw what I had to go through to look like a normal person again. I don't want him to become the next victim in the hands of a doctor who possibly is not familiar with Zerit's side effects. I appreciate your guidance. Sincerely, Krystof
