Guest guest
suggested to me, in a subsequent message that saline implanted women need to start a research group to determine why they are getting ill . . . The questions to be asked are: " Is it something in the texture of the implant? Is it the tin? Is it the bacteria and fungus? Is it something now being referred to as " particle disease " when the shell starts to disintegrate? " Good suggestion! . . . Any takers? - Rogene - See message below! ------------------------------ --- m keeling <keeling.m@...> wrote: > From: " m keeling " <keeling.m@...> > " Rogene " <saxony01@...> > CC: <MBGStout@...> > Subject: Re: twin sisters > Date: Wed, 4 May 2005 12:24:57 -0500 > > Rogene, > I am unable to include women with saline implants > only in the free platinum > testing program because our research indicates that > the two saline implants > tested did not release platinum and the FDA makes > the statement that saline > implants use tin as a catalyst to make the shell. > Something else has to be > at work here to explain the symptoms and diagnoses > found in saline implanted > women. Guest guest
Dear Friends: I have an article somewhere, and the silicone does shed particles when it becomes brittle. I'm doing research from my bed because of a bit of a flare. I will take more articles and see if I can find this one. Love always....Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`````````` twin sisters >> >> >> > " kingmashana " <shanakingma@... >> > >> > >> > >> > >> > Well, I have been diagnosed with severe rheumatoid >> arthritis (at 29) >> > and also have some symptoms of Sjogrens (dry >> mouth) syndrome. Guest guest
This used to be on the FDA website ... they took it off and also off the Inamed site ... however this was here in 2000: http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/breastimplants/labeling/mcghan_patient_labeli ng_5900.html What is a Saline-Filled Breast Implant? The silicone elastomer (rubber) contains the following substances: 1) small amounts (parts per million) of various smaller silicones; 2) small amounts (50 - 100 parts per million) of metals like tin and platinum and very trace amounts of other metals; 3) trace amounts of volatile materials like xylene and other organic compounds; and 4) considerable amounts (approximately 20 parts per hundred) of finely powdered silica that is tightly bound to the silicone rubber pouch
