Guest guest
Eating is indeed boring. Other people talk about enjoying the taste and texture and all that but I don't see it. Some things do taste good, of course, but that is a help mainly in getting the food down in the first place. I tend to eat a little breakfast then a snack or something and then have one big meal in the evening. I too always have the TV on while I am eating. Just shoveling in the food is about as boring as it gets. Just one of the annoying things one has to do to keep the body up. There are times I wouldn't mind going the Robocop route and having cyborg body or something since the upkeep would be so much less. In Dungeons and Dragons, there is a Wizard spell that allows the target to go without eating or drinking for 1 day per level. This was a favorite of mine. There was also the Ring of Sustenance which had the same effect, another favorite. I am still rather picky about what I eat. I have my favorites and do most of my own cooking, so it is not a problem. When I go out, I have my favorites at each place. The cooking and food shows don't make any sense to me either. Mixed up foods like they tend to feature disgust me anyway, so seeing them made has no fascination at all. The pre-packaged foods are great, at least those made by the local grocery chain which don't have as much salt and all that. Just throw it in the microwave and in a minute its done. 5 minutes or less later and the meal is over and its on to better things. Thanks, I do look better than I did when I was younger. It is kind of a challenge though. When I went to a gym, their goals were very different from mine. What I was after was functional strength and the look that went with it. They were busy making people into the steriod monsters you see on pro-wrestling and most men's magazine covers. I look more like the old time strong men from the early 1900's and Atlas, although not as big as Atlas, just that basic pattern. I would give my opinion of the steroid boy/gym rat look, but that might run into trouble with the censors.
Guest guest
I tried sending this through with a different subject line, but I'm not sure it went. Sorry if this was posted twice. Inger, The family came over here mostly from England. Storke was the man's name. He was given a land grant by the King for a piece of land here in Virginia, right around 1640. He was a merchant who owned at least one ship. Before that, the family came from Holland or Northern Germany. I can't think of his name off hand, but one of the ancestors went to England to fight in the armies of Henry VIII. For his efforts he was a Gentleman, which was the lowest step on the nobility ladder (not royalty mind you, that was another ballgame altogether). The family has included the likes of Washington's brother (related by marriage), Henry, e (of the and e Expedition), E Lee, and Patton. The fortunes changed around 1929 or so with the Great Stock Market Crash. The family had hard financial times and that seems to have hurt them. It was after that the family started marrying "commoners" and steadily down the line the further along you went. What I mean by commoners is that the families had been marrying between themselves or others higher up the social ladder. After the Crash, they began marrying outside this circle ( so its not arrogance just a way to put it in perspective). I would tell you more about this, but I don't think they would appreciate my analysis of them. Why I should care is another matter, since they don't like me much anyway. My father's side does have the detailed records, that I am aware of. We do know that they were in the South Carolina area before the Revolutionary War and they were not the big land owners. During the Revolution, they moved west into Alabama. They weren't Royalists, they were just trying to get away from the fighting, which was rather ungentlemanly down there. During the Mexican American War of the 1840's several of the line went to fight. They were in the nothern campaigns, which we indecisive, except that they tied up Mexican troops which allowed the southern force to have a somewhat easier time of it. After that they came home and founded a little community. First they worked at a store a friend built, then my family bought it and we still own it even though it is no longer in operation. My Great-great grandfather and his son built up a nice bit of land in addition to the stores, the original plus one in town. The village at its height had about 80 families, but noone lives there now.

It's so annoying and I wish I could just give up food altogether. And sleep. All those wasted hours when I could be doing so many things if my body didn't " wind down " after so many hours of using it. I envy Data for all he must be able to accomplish in the time I have to spend eating and sleeping. Sparrow
