Hi . My name is Bobby Aragon. I have end stage liver disease as a result of

alcoholism. I woke up this morning to your post. I was wondering if there was

anyone like out there. Most of the folks here have other etiologies for their

liver disease, It sounds like most suffer from either NASH, or hepC. Anyway,

welcome to our group. I have grown to love the people here like family. I

stopped drinking after a lifetime of abusing alcohol. I am 43, and my sobriety

date is September 15, 2006. I just completed one year. Inside that year, I

kicked myself in the ass good and hard, every day. I go to AA, and know that in

order to get well, I had to forgive myself, much as I was asking others to

forgive me. I had made a list, and I was on it. I have finally done that. I had

a rough night last night with nausea, and it'd nights like that when I am at

peace more than anytime, because if I don't wake up, it's really ok. I have

faith that I will wake up, though, and

I allways do, so here I am, the sun came up, (I thanked God for that).

I am done kicking myself. I made my bed, yes I know, but I deserve s second

chance as much as anybody else, and alcoholics do no worse at liver transplants

than other causes of cirrhosis. I have started the evaluation for being place

on the transplant list. The first step for me was an echocardiogram, which came

back A-OK, and on to the next step, which is in 3 months. I will lose 25 pounds

between now and then , and we'll go on from there. I am robwalkingeagle on yahoo

Hi - I'm new

I am so relieved to have found this forum.

I am 36 and was diagnosed with cirrhosis two months ago.

I had quit drinking a month before I found out about it.

My husband and my parents know about this but I have not told my

sisters or extended family. They have been fantastic and my hubby is a

saint. I feel as if I have brought all of this on myself and that I

really don't have the right to complain when I feel crummy and sick.

Did anyone else feel like this?
