Guest guest
Crystals are some people's " thing " . . . along with other types of rocks/stones . . . People who hunt/collect them are called " rockhounds " . . . In the metaphysical world, crystals are considered to have energy. I have one friend who believes she draws energy from her favorite crystals. . . Crystals were used in the early days of radio for building components - hence " crystal set " . To me, they are just a sample of one of the beauties of nature. My grandkids love finding them . . . then they either sell, or trade them, with their friends. It's like hunting Easter eggs, but considerably dirtier. And . . . if you're not careful, you can shred your fingers on the sharp edges. has a couple properties that sit on veins of crystals. They dig with heavy equipment. Then bring truck loads of soil containing crystals to the digging area where people pay to dig . . . There are some crystal formations that weigh hundreds of pounds . . . Not the ones you take home. Part of that vein runs through our neighborhood . . . One of the neighbors found it when planting her yard. She ended up tranforming her entire yard into a mountainside garden as she dug, ending up with " Yard of the Year " last year. I have a half dozen of various sizes/shapes sitting here by my computer. When I look at them, I wonder about the force of nature that makes such beautiful things!
