Hi Katy

Are you just diagnosed, or have you already been taking a thyroid med? Your

Free T3 seems to be a little low, though it's within the " normal " range.

The high normal might be better on this one, unless you're feeling awfully

good right now, or at the time those tests were taken. Free T4 looks good.

One thing about it, if she's calling you hypo, then at least she isn't

obsessed about the TSH, as so many are. The tests I'm having run are

exactly what you had, and to me those are the tests that should be run to

find out anything about the thyroid. You're saying that it's not clear to

you exactly what she said?

Katy---Is your heart rate up, or is it beating harder, as in palpitations?

Sounds like the doc is in over her head and maybe won't admit it. Then

again, by " other tests " , could she have meant adrenal insufficiency testing?

What were the tests she mentioned doing?

I

have a question about the MCS. What are the symptoms? How do

you get diagnosed MCS?

What do they look for, and how can I get my Father in to see if this is

what is going on for him?

I know at times he wishes he was dead, and the Dr.'s have NO idea what is

going on. He has

even gone to the Mayo Center.

,

Yahoo lost my reply to this. I will try to remember what I wrote.

I was originally diagnosed hypo w/non-malignant nodule in early 80s,

and except for a short time on Synthroid, which was disastrous, I

have been on 180mg. of Armour since.

The doctor said yesterday, at first, she would give me a little

additional T3. Then, she decided I need additional tests, so she

gave me nothing different. She spent most of the time going over

additional tests which she thinks I need and said to come back when I

can afford them.

I asked her if she thought I was still hypo. She said she didn't

know if I was hypo, hyper or had Hashi. Just kept flitting from one

thing to another with no conclusive statements or recommendations.

I felt the tests I had should have been sufficient.

, My heart rate is up sporadically, mostly when I am under

stress, which I have a lot of in my life right now.

I thought she was going to do an adrenal test, but didn't.

The additional tests she wants are Total T3 and Total T4. From what

I have read recently, those are not considered necessary.

I think you are right, she is in over her head.

  • 3 months later...

If you're feeling really well, then it doesn't matter. If you're not, I would say that both these Free levels could stand to be upped to the upper range of normal.

Tx

My Lab Results

K...went through Healthcheck. Just got my results :::::

Free t3 2.8 2.3-4.2

Free t4 1.1 0.8-1.8

TSH .02 0.35-5.50

I dont have a thyroid. I am taking .15mg of Levothroid.

How do my results look ?????
