Guest guest Posted February 27, 2001 Report Share Posted February 27, 2001 I recently listened to Sally Fallon's tapes from a conference from this year and thought I'd share the 11 characteristics that are similar in the diets of traditional cultures. I have the old cookbook and did not see these in there, maybe theya re in the new one I'm not sure. 1 - No refined foods 2- Every diet contained animal products 3- Diets high in fat soluable vitamins 4- Some animal products eaten raw 5- High enzyme foods (this is from foods eaten raw) 6- grains, nuts, seeds and legumes prepared carefully 7- 4% diet from unsaturated fats, 20% from saturated fats 8- Relationship between omega 6 and omega 3 fatty acids balanced 9- All have salt 10- All made use of the bones of animals 11- Made provisions for the next generation by saving some special foods for the young and those during fertile years. a Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
