Guest guest
I read this morning in the Daily Mail that the Tory party intend to table a debate in the Commons on herbal medicines and the Traditional Medicines directive (DM 17/01/03 p.14). The Scurra quotes a senior Westminster source as saying that the Tories are wasting valuable time by discussing something so far off the beaten track. Well done to all who contacted their MPs. I'm about to shoot off email to the Daily Mail pointing out the sector is multi million pound business, issues of consumer safety, etc. So I guess we all need to see our MPs to make sure that they are all well aware of issues involved. Also another part of 'what is to be done' is that the Traditional Medicines Directive calls for a new Committee for Herbal Medicinal Products, each member state to appoint ther 'expert'. Monographs are to be produced by this Committee. If we are not already agitating to be made part of,or adivisors to this Committee then we need to be. It's difficult to know what is to be done because most of us are not aware of what is already being done. Where can I go to find out what is currently being discussed by the DH & MCA & our representatives? The links on the EHPA site don't work & I can't find any information. Where to look?
