Guest guest
Beth, Hooray for on her first steps! Now you will soon forget a time when she was not scurrying around the place at breakneck speed! I hope the heart test go well for you, sincerely. I don't know if this is routine checking or if a murmur was heard or what, but I hope all is well for her. Our Jonas was born with atrialseptal ventricular defect of the heart. This is a hole between the upper chambers of the heart and a second hole between the lower chambers of the heart. Oxygenated blood can therefore get mixed with blood which does not contain oxygen. We were told on Jonas' 11th day of life that he would have to have open heart surgery within the first year of his life. I asked the doctor then if there was any possibility of the holes closing on their own. He told me that there was " No Physical Possibility! " I told him that I was glad that my God was not restricted to the physical realm. He sort of chuckled at that. I went about trusting that God would indeed heal Jonas if that was His will. One of the holes has closed on it's own. Jonas is 2 years and 4 months old now, and the remaining hole is getting smaller. No surgery has been done, no medications have ever been taken, and we do not see the cardiologist until December of this year unless we see any problems. We are seeing no problems. The doctor can't admit that Jonas is beating his predictions and is a little miracle baby, but that does not matter to me at all. I keep trusting and praying, and he just keeps doing better and better. Now, I must say, that if the cardiologist surgical team believed that at any time Jonas should have had the surgery, it would have been done! If we need it still, it will be done! I believe in using the assets that modern medicine allow us, but I do not discount that things can happen outside of the pages of the medical journals! So, however things turn out, take heart, and stay strong. Even if there is something to be fixed, many parents here can tell you of their experiences with heart ailments that have turned out very well indeed! Let us know how makes out, Love to your little ones! Blessings, Barb Martz thanks! > Thanks to everyone for making us feel > so welcome! > Right now, we're finding a physical > therapist & setting up a heart test > with our doctor for . > By the way, she took FOUR steps by > herslf last thurs.!!!!! > Thanks again, you are all real good > people! > Beth > mom of 17mths(mds) 5 > > > > Won't you please consider adding your personal story on the MDS website today? http://www.mosaicdownsyndrome.com > ************************************************* > Become a member of IMDSA at http://www.imdsa.com > ************************************************* > MDS MESSAGE BOARD - http://www.mosaicdownsyndrome.com/discus > ************************************************* >
