Guest guest
Liz, I can speak for FM pain . . . I don't know if that's what you're experiencing. Fibromyalgia goes hand in glove with a sleep disorder where you don't get deep sleep. If you get refreshing, deep sleep and still have muscle pain, you don't have FM. The body rebuilds it's tissues during deep sleep. If you don't get deep sleep, your body isn't restoring itself at night. With FM, the tissue that covers the muscle becomes very tight. This pulls on the joints and feels like both joint an muscle pain. The points on the body where they test for " trigger points " are where major muscles tie to bone. If you don't have these spots, you don't have FM . . . Do a websearch for a fibromyalgia chart, or take a look at a book on FM. With FM, the muscles feel very tight to the touch . . .. If your muscles feel soft, it's not FM. With FM, rest makes the pain worse . . . vigorous exercise makes the pain worse too. If you have less pain when you're moving about, rather than resting, you don't have FM. If you wake in the morning with your body aching all over, then feel better after getting up and moving around, that's what FM feels like. People with FM tend to have good range-of-motion because they usually stretch a lot to relieve muscle tension. The pain can come and go, depending on what you're doing, the kind and amount of exercise you're getting, and the level of stress you're experiencing. Diet, massage, heat, exercise, attitude all play a big role in manageing FM. Does this help? Guest guest
Hi Rogene I didn’t realize that I wasn’t getting deep sleep until I was treated by my MD for fibro with drugs so for some, it may be tough to know. I would have sworn I was sleeping well. I have to disagree with you with regard to getting refreshing sleep and not having fibro. Even after getting refreshing sleep, the fibro pain did not cease or even ease up. It wasn’t until I changed my diet around and did lots of detoxing did my fibro pain leave. Guest guest
The one thing that has helped me more than anything else with regards to my fibro is L-Tyrosine. It's an amino acid that has no side effects. It's a precursor to the neurotransmitters and therefore helps with obtaining a deeper sleep. Unlike taking any form of drugs, there are no sleepy side effects whatsoever. Take 1000mg at bedtime every night. I have tried going off of it many times and every time my symptoms return so I know for a fact that it helps me. When I am not on it, I wake up with pain and tiffness so bad that I can't even peel a banana for my 3 year old. But when I am on it, the pain and stiffness are nearly gone. > >> > > >> > is fm a chronic painful thing everyday? or does it > >> > come and go? what > >> > seems to help with the muscle pain and aching. i > >> > dont know if i have > >> > it or not, but i am still wondering what is going on > >> > with my muscles, > >> > i never have pain in the same spot it seems like it > >> > is traveling from > >> > muscle to muscle. does this seem like a way your > >> > body could be healing > >> > from post explant? what does anyone say about this? > >> > jen said that she > >> > felt the same way on and off for awhile. about how > >> > long jen will i be > >> > dealing with this. how long on and off did you have > >> > the muscle pain? > >> > do you still get muscle pain at all? what did you do > >> > for it? > >> > > >> > liz > >> > > >> > > >> > > >> > > > > > > > Opinions expressed are NOT meant to take the place of advice given by licensed > > health care professionals. Guest guest
Fibro is so different for every body, it’s tough to say what will work and won’t, it’s trial and error. Some people develop fibro after trauma, some with toxicity. I don’t know if the cause has anything to do with the treatment.
