Guest guest
Becky, This is one I heard about on another list and have been very happy with it. Cover clean organic or farm eggs with fresh squeezed organic lemon juice and leave it in the fridge for a couple of days. The lemon juice pulls the calcium out of the egg shells. After a couple of days, remove the eggs without breaking the membranes. I don't know how much to tell you to take but , my autistic son, needs extra calcium to help him stay calm. I have tried many different kinds and this has worked better for him than anything else. I give him about 2 tsp a day. I have found that white eggs work better than brown but brown does work and bottled lemon just has worked but not as good as fresh squeezed. Guest guest
Kale is a good source of calcium. I have made Kale soup from a cookbook called " CalciYum " . (I actually combined the NT techniques/foods with the soup recipe). It takes alot of diary products to get 1 gram or more, and I'm not sure how much calcium is in the bone broths.... Guest guest
Great idea!! This is what I was hoping for...a good natural source. I'm just really leary of stuff in pills. I even have some eggshells on hand. Guest guest
What types of calcium supplements have you tried? I know we do not get munch absorption from supplements, but I have two different ones here that you mix with water and then drink the water. The one is a mix made by a guy which he has been perfecting. I can find out what and how well he thinks it would absorb. He started this mix for teeth. The water does not taste bitter or bad at all and is very easy to drink because I can drink it!!(ha ha) The other is a little contriversial. It is Calcium Hydroxide. You leave the powder sit in the water and then skim off the water from the top without getting any of the powder, I do not know exactly why, maybe someone on this list has a better grasp of this! Grace, a Augustine I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright. I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more. I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive. I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger. I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting. I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess. I wish you enough ''Hello's " to get you through the final goodbye. --anonymous ----- Original Message ----- From: beckymauldin@... Guest guest
I have not tried any suppliments before. I prefer to get my nutrients from foods or natural things that are nutritionally dense. Becky > What types of calcium supplements have you tried? Guest guest
Hi Becky, It is difficult to get optimum nutrition from the foods we eat. And this day of so many chemicals everywhere I believe that we need more than what even good food can give us. Guest guest
I am realizing this and am starting to incorporate more suppliments into my diet. I'm taking cod liver oil now, and want to get the acerola berries for C, Wheat germ oil for E (any good sources?), and looking into others. I've taken a product called Superfood that Dr. Schulze sells that is various herbs and foods in powder form, like spirulina, chlorella, dulse, beet root, lemon peels, orange peels, spinach, nutritional yeast, etc...and I feel good using that because I KNOW what is in it. Most vitamins on the shelves could contain garbage for all I know. And Schulze says most do have things our bodies cannot absorb. So, I'm on a quest to find those more natural sources of nutrients. If you have any suggestions, PLEASE let me know....I'm still learning so much right now. I want to also start taking dessicated liver but need to find a source that guarantees it's organic. Any ideas? In the meantime, I'm pursuing the things recommended in the sources section of NT... Thanks, Becky > > What types of calcium supplements have you tried? Guest guest
Becky, I recently discovered a whole food vitamin from Infinity. I personally wanted something for when I am traveling, or haven't been able to eat as well as I would like to. The key is that it is a whole food vitamin. The link is: http://www.infinity2.com/product/product.asp You get a nice discount if you call with the number: 1-800-572- 1447. I tried both the multi-vitamin and the chelated mineral complex on my last trip and felt great when I got home (which usually doesn't happen). Sally recently told me on this site that if one of her kids wouldn't eat liver, she gave them the Carlson brand dessicated liver pills, so I got those since my husband refused to eat liver. If you go to www.vitaminshoppe.com and do a search for Carlson, you should be able to find them. It doesn't say if it is organic, but I am sure you could contact them and ask. Hope this helps! > > > What types of calcium supplements have you tried? Guest guest
My nt son allergic to all legumes/beans/soy/peanuts, I wouldn't dream of it. One theory is to let the body rest, heal. You may just push that threshold until one day, *********! Your choice, no one person reacts the same. But I also know what it's like taking something and it not agreeing with me, it's not fun. You might have a happier child not ingesting foods that are issues. Tammy [ ] Calcium Suppliment Is it ok to give calciam mag suppliment with digestive enzymes DPP VI?
