Welcome ,

. . . Do you have problems with sleep? ... Probably

plenty with a four-month old baby! I'm having a

problem tonight! So, while I'm waiting for my sleep

med to kick in, I'm sipping my Sleepy Time tea and

checking emails!

You sound so much like us! . . . But, you also sound

like you're early into all this! It can be much worse.

I haven't heard of anyone's tongue peeling . . . but,

with everything else that can happen, I wouldn't be at

all surprised!

When you see your doctor, you need to insist on two

things. First, that he remove your implants " en bloc " .

That's medicalese for removing the capsules with the

implant still inside to prevent anything from leaking

into your chest. He can drain salines with a needle

first.

Your insurance may well cover your explant since

you've been having so many problems and getting so

many tests. There is a doctor in Canada, Dr. Blais who

will examine your implants and can tell which

organisms are growing in your implants. Even if your

insurance doesn't want to pay initially, they probably

will when they see the results! Secondly, your doctor

should put in drains - tubes which come out of your

breasts to little collection bottles. They're a

nusiance, but that simple step can save you a lot of

complications.

Now . . . to your mouth! . . . Several things you

might try. Chances are you have a systemic

fungal/yeast infection.

Some quick fixes are eating raw, fresh, crushed

garlic. When fresh garlic is crushed a chemical is

created that is a natural antibiotic, antifungal and

antioxident. It's nature's wonder food. Cheap too! You

can eat as many as 12 cloves a day. But, I would start

with one. Eating a piece of fresh apple afterwards

helps with the aftertaste. Serving those around you

something with garlic in it helps mask the smell!

Treating with antifungals and probiotics may help.

Another quick fix is Oil of Oregano. You get it at a

health food store. It's a bit pricy, considering the

bottle size, but it goes a long way. Put a few drops

in a glass of grapefruit juice, and the taste won't be

too noticeable. BTW, grapefruit seed extract is

excellent too. You should begin to see a difference in

24 hours.

These products will help reduce the bad guys . . .

Then you need to rebuild the good guys . . . That's

where probiotics come in. You can take Acidopholis

(buy only from the refrigerated section of a health

food store), or Primal Defense (best). Even then, it

will take several months to recolonize the good

organisms. If you'll read a book on Systemic Candida,

you'll get a better idea what to do. You will also

need to go on a sugar-free diet that has a minimum of

refined grains, and no processed foods. Organic foods

are best!

I hope you aren't nursing! . . . Assuming your

implants are contaminated, you wouldn't want to pass

any of the gunk along to your baby. I recently started

a group for the families of children affected by any

type of silicone implant. I hope you don't need us,

but if you do, let me know. We don't have any answers

yet, but we're getting some clues! Right now, what you

want to watch for are signs of digestive problems. Be

sure your baby eats very healthy! Here again . . . no

sugar, no processed foods!

Well, the pill is kicking in, and I think I can sleep.

Please take care of yourself and your precious

children!

Hugs and prayers,

Rogene

Hi ,

Welcome to our group, and of course, I say that wishing that you

really didn't have to be here because of breast implant illness, but

we know that having friends to talk to is so important as you go

through this.

I am not surprised you haven't had any abnormal test results. Many

women have felt like they were dying, only to have all their tests

come out completely normal and to have their doctors treat them like

everything was all in their heads. We can look great, but feel so

terribly poisoned!

I am really glad you are looking at explant with your children in

mind. They need us mommies! Being sick while they are at their most

vulnerable ages is so difficult. Hopefully as we heal, they will

not be able to remember us as sick mommies for long.

There are some alarm bells going off in my mind about the canker

sores and mouth sores....three things actually that you might want

to consider.

First, as our immune systems are weakened by the constant battling

of the foreign object in our body, it becomes less able to fight off

viruses and bacteria, which allows dormant viruses in our systems to

manifest. I believe some have thought of canker sores to be a virus

that lies dormant much of the time. The bacterial infections will

need antibiotics in most cases, but those viruses have to be allowed

to run their course. We can do alot to assist our immune systems by

taking the supplements that fight those pathogens for us. Things

like olive leaf extract, RAW GARLIC (my number one favorite),

oregano oil, grapefruit seed extract, and others. There are lots of

good herbal remedies that have anti-viral and anti-microbial

properties.

Second, this could be a sign of a highly allergic reaction, or an

autoimmune reaction, associated with Recurrent aphthous stomatitis

(RAS). Of course, that certainly falls in line with the generalized

autoimmune reactions that women have experienced with breast

implants. We all just have different manifestations of our own

body's autoimmune response. Mine was Hashimoto's autoimmune thyroid

disease.

The third thought is that these sores may be a manifestation of

heavy metal toxicity in the body, and the mouth is just where it is

showing up. This website has lots of info on that subject.

http://www.shirleys-wellness-cafe.com/amalgam.htm

The shells of all implants are made up of silicone, and silicone

is " cured " with certain metals (such as platinum or tin). The

metals are the catalyst that firms it up and these metals can leach

out of the implant shells (or the gel if you have silicone gel

implants.) None of these metals are good for us. They contribute to

neurological symptoms and this is well known! You'd think

manufacturer's of implants would have a CLUE.

You can look into heavy metal testing, most likely through a

naturopathic physician, to determine if this is an area of concern

for you.

Just thought I would share those thoughts. I hope it helps!

Hugs,

Patty

I am so happy you found us! I also had mine in for 7 years... they have been removed for two as of last week. I have a little boy that is 3 that has not been as lucky as yours but seems to be doing better - he has not had a "flare up" in quite a while. I also lost a ton of pain while pregnant.... really weird.

Anyways - welcome to our group!!! here is my story if you are intetrested...

Welcome , here's my story..I just turned 24 & had a 1yr old

son, I never had any symptoms or problems with my health, but on Jan

30, 2004

I got smooth saline implants & 2wks after my surgery is when it all

started....

panic/anxiety attacks, extreme lightheadedness, sinus/eye pressure,

constant flu-like feelings, heart palpations, burning zaps thruout

my body, hands/feet ached, weird tingling thruout my body, extreme

fatigue, red blotches in my eyes, chest pain, internal vibrating or

shaking feeling, sharp achey pains

thruout, parts of my body would feel like they were " asleep " a

feeling of weakness in my left arm, then later my legs, I

could go on & on with the symptoms I had, everyday it was a new

symptom that came about, after going from Dr to Dr, having tests

done

on me, several ER visits, and everytime a Dr would tell me, no its

not

your implants, but we don't know what else is going on with you. I

knew that for me that wasn't normal since I had always lived a life

of perfect health, so 6 months later On Aug 12, 2004 I had them out

by my original PS & I left my capsules in. I just wanted them out!

Its been quite a few months since my explant & I felt better

instantly with some of my symptoms, but it has been a long road for

the other of my symptoms, I have been detoxing, drinking lots of

water, taking supplements & I'm under the care of a wonderful

Naturopathic Dr. You will get your health back, but its going to

take some time. I was very ill very quickly its amazing how ill

saline implants can make you. Sorry that was so long but I wanted to

share my situation with you!!

Hi ,

Welcome to the group. I am 2 weeks post explant at

this time. I also had saline textured.. I was told by

my explanting doctor that they are absolutely the

worst due to the flaking off effect that Beth L also

described.

You're making the right decision for you and for your

little boys to get those implants out.

, I had implants for almost9 years and sometimes almost wonder, if that is why things did show up on blood work, (like my RA and thyroid disease at 26) as I gave the time needed forsdiseases to develop. Also, alot of other things did not come up, like I kept showing symptoms of ms, yet, nothing on tests. It is very common, as we dont all present with real diseases, rather atypical, or alike. And this correlates with many studies. It isnt normal, or the regular diseases. Man, do I know about the joint pain in the hands and fingers! Wow, it was so tight and hot and tender in the morings, and swollen! Also in my feet and toes. It got better as the day went on, but am I glad that is gone, so is the rhuematoid arthrits.

Also, I also didnt get ill until after the birth of my son. And believe the pregancy, compounded with implants, was just too much for my body to take any longer. I got ill and fast.

But thanks to this group, I got them out, (right) detoxed, changed my diet and am mommy girl again! I have a 4 year old and another on the way. Only 9 weeks to go! And I am so glad I got them out , I am well again, have stumped dcotros that argued with me on removing them, and my breasts are not disfigured, but actually pretty. Oh, another common symsptom, weight gain! I think the implants mess with your metabilsm. ?'s- ask away! good luck,

wi

WI? Is that right? Anyway, did you test positive for RA? That is my

situation right now. I tested VERY positive for RA (pain is especially

bad in my shoulders and feet/toes) I want so badly for explantation to

help. I was completely healthy one year ago when I was implanted...now

I'm staring at over $1500/monthly in prescriptions alone. I am only 29

years old!! My rheumy says I could be disabled in 2 years. Did your RA

completely regress? What did your doctors say about it? Just

wanting/needing to know.....Thanks, Shana

How did you get the mycoplasmal infection testing? Dr. kolb suggested

that to me too, but I don't know where. Was it your rheumy? Did you do

it before or after explant? Thanks, Shana
