Guest guest
Just curious....are fat pads a symptom of thyroid or adrenal problems? I was told a few years ago (before anyone would take me serious about my thyroid) that these large masses that seemed to pop up overnight were just fat pads from my being overweight. I was basically sent home by a surgeon who pretty much made light of my concerns and even seemed to be laughing at me as I left his office. I had never had such a thing in my life and the fat pads literally did seem to appear over night. In fact, I was sure that I had some form of a tumor or something. (I know, silly me) What's worse, I had to argue with the insurance company for weeks that fat pads were NOT an obesity issue. UGH! Also, though I do not have any lumps or nodules on my thyroid, I have ALWAYS had a problem from child hood (worsened over the past few years) with having anything touch my neck. I always feel like something is choking me. I can't stand turtle necks, necklaces or even t-shirts that even remotely touch my neck. It's weird. Could all of this actually be due to illness and not just something in my head as I've been told so many times?
