how r u? i hope u r fine & everything is going gr8. I have been busy lately , so i couldnt send mails to the group , but fortunately i was able to read all the mails. As for my diet, it is really terrible :S:S. My university has started & i am still working & at the evening i go to the gym. So, my schedule during the day is not only keeping me from eating healthy food, i am not eating my meals on time & sometimes i am skipping one of my meals. I really would appreciate if anyone of the group would provide me with easy recipes for snacks during the day.

I feel as if i am nagging, hehehe, but i am really not satisfied with my diet & beside that i cannot find many of the macrobiotic ingredients that i should include in my diet. So, i am trying to stick as much as i can to vegetraian recipes & grains ... And in addition to all that, i am having a terrible neck pain & it is causing me headaches,...so i'll be going to the doctor soon, but i would like any tips about it because i am sitting for a long time on the computer & no exercise or self-massage or anything has worked well with me till now.

i would really like any support from the group

Hi Shirine,

Just for starters, things here are pretty bad emotionally and I

don't have the brain power to write as much or as often.

I'm sorry things are so so for you.

Don't beat yourself for " falling off the wagon " for a bit. That

just is life. Wipe off your butt and clean up your diet when you

are ready. I think if you figure out why you did slip it may help

you accept it.

Try to make it easy on yourself. If you have a problem spending

lots of time cooking, just wash rice, soak it in the pot you'll cook

it in and the next morning pour out the rice, put in fresh and cook

it while you get ready. Chop up some veggies when you have a few

minutes and wash then and put them in a container so you have them

ready for miso soup in the morning or for a quick stir fry that

night. Do the same with some bean.

You are not nagging. This is why we're here to help. If you can't

complain here, where can you go to do it?

When did the headaches start? Did they start when you started to

eat badly again? did they start when you were eating well for a

while. Could be discharge. I'm wondering, if you go to a

conventional doctor he will probably not know why it happens and

will give you something to mask it and make matters worse by

damaging organs. But you have to do what you feel most comfortable

with. What ingredients are you having a dificult time getting? Did

you check out the websites we put up for you to get things by mail?

Bruce said headaches come from the intestines. Are you

constipated? Are you having your miso every day? Are you having

any acidophilus?

Hi there,

just a quick comment on your neckpain/headache. I used to be really stiff;

when I was to take the car reverse I couldn't turn my head to the right, I

had to turn to the left. Then I changed my diet around - starting the

macrobiotic way. When people change their diet, thew body, of course, starts

a cleaning process and lets go of a lot of rubbish. When it comes to my

neck, one day I got really terrible pains. It hurt while I was walking, each

time I put my foot down. I had great difficulties laying down in bed; it

took me about ten minutes and I cried tears because of the pain. When I had

to get up to go to the toilet I didn't want to lay down again; I sat

sleeping in a chair the rest of the night.

The pain lasted for two maybe three days. Then it was gone. And since then I

have been able to turn my head to the right.

It is always interesting to hear how diet has helped someone. I

understand that i was very out of balance as my doctor would say

when i used to eat lots of meat. My cholestrol was way out of line

when i was 32 [and very heavy from eating pork and no exercise].

My chest would hurt if i tryed to jog because of weight and knew i

needed change. That was shortly before my son became

vegetarian and I hired a macrobiotic nanny. She taught me what i

needed to get myself healthy again. East West Magazines

[Journal] from the early 80s also challenged me to look further

than the cultural norms i had grown up with. * PS> here's
