Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I was wondering if anyone out there had any insight on this. I am about 10 days post op right now. I saw my doctor a few days ago and he started me on a detox program. I woke up today with a swollen gland below my chin and a fever blister. I always thought that stuff like this was an indicator that the body is under stress.. could this be a healing reaction? Thanks.. Guest guest
Hi Dawn, Detoxing when you are very toxic stirs up toxins in your body and can temporarily make you feel worse or create new problems. The swollen gland and fever blister were caused by your beginning to detox. Hang in there, it will get better. It just takes a bit of time. Your body is under stress, you are detoxing it. Guest guest
Dawn, This is probably a detox reaction. . . I'd suggest slowing down your detox program for a little while before picking it back up again. It's going to take time and patience to get all the stuff out. The point is to keep your herxes bearable. The variety of things that can pop up while you're detoxing is virtually endless! Just know that each time it happens, you are going to be that much better when it's over. If you were to go to a detox center, you would be put on a fast track. However, they would be keeping a close eye on you. But when you're working on your own, it's best to pace yourself. You don't want to herx so badly that you'll quit working on it. The results will be well worth it! Hugs and prayers, Rogene
Guest guest
Hi Dawn, Yes, that sounds like a healing reaction to me...I had a swollen gland in my neck after explant. It was sore and painful. It went away, of course. The fever blister is probably just a sign of things getting stirred up in your system. Your immune system has taken a hit just from undergoing surgery, so don't stress about it, just let nature take its course and let your body heal. Be patient, be peaceful, rest and take good care of yourself! We've always cautioned that things feel really great after explant, but at about the 6 week marker, some symptoms can return and you might be disheartened about that, but don't worry....this is when your REAL healing journey takes over. Complete resolution of all symptoms can take a long time, so patience will definitely be a virtue for you. But stay positive, optimistic and very hopeful, because we KNOW things can get better! We've been there, girl... it will get better. More than likely this is a healing reaction, which you may see lots of in the coming months. Guest guest
- I think it is possible that this is a detox reaction. they can be almost anything. Iknow that strange rashes of all kinds, fevers, body aches, joint swelling, etc can be symptoms so this sounds like it probably is also. kathy -- In , dawn A <daldre@y...> wrote: > Hi Everyone, > I was wondering if anyone out there had any insight on > this.
