Guest guest
Hi, , Check the label on the bottle. I cannot, by law, say " Armour Thyroid " if it is a generic. I asked the pharmacist when I picked it up, " This isn't generic, is it? " He says, " No, of course not, there is no generic for this drug. " I got a laugh and told him but there is, and I sure don't want it. He persisted so I just got my pills & left. I wish I still had the bottle of generics I was given out in CA when I got so sick. Guest guest
Well I should know what it looks like, I have been on & off it since my first diagnosis about 26 years ago, but over the years several pharmacies have slipped the generic in on me, and being the brain-dead person I am, I haven't thought to look at either the pills or the bottles till I had this horrible feeling it wasn't working like it should be. Now I ask as the last time in CA I got really sick on the generic. They wouldn't let me bring it back as it had already left the pharmacy & I had no more money to replace it, so for 2 months I just literally died. That was when I got tendonitis in my right arm so bad I thought I would have to retire early from grooming. Correct meds & it is all gone, ALL traces of it gone! Guest guest
Hi, , Another way to handle this is to have your doctor write or check off the box on the prescription forms " Dispense only as written " . So if he/she orders " Armour Thyroid " , that is all the pharmacy can give you. It isn't like this is the most expensive drug in the world, so why bother with a generic? We already know that the " real " drug works, so I won't mess around. I make my doctor use the " Dispense only.... I need to find out what it is! << Well according to my body, it is either a total placebo or just T4! LOL I couldn't believe the difference in a generic drug. Anyway... I usually do have the doc check the brand name only box, but as this was a transferred script from another pharmacy, I had to be sure they got it right. Guest guest
Ah Qualitest rings a bell, bet that was the one they gave me. Nasty stuff! At least for me it was. The doctor was testing me for Lyme's Disease from the joint pain and tired I was suddenly having! Guest guest
Where the heck are all these people getting their training?! It's almost as though, before they get their diploma, their instructors say "Now if you can go Duhhh! you pass". Then they go "Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhh", and hocus-pocus------Hey I get to descend on the public and endanger everyone's lives. Re: Another "Expert" fails... Hi, Val! If you will look in "Photos" on our Texas site, you will see a picture of anatomically correct Armour. jan T wrote: Well I just got back from a new pharmacy.
