Adam,

Thanks. Yeah. I know how you feel. It's good that you were as in tune with what was going on with your body that you quit the crap after only 2 months. Epecially at a young age sometimes we ignore side effects. Good for you. The full blood test does seem to be the best course of action. As far as the feeling dull on other parts of the body, I might have a bit of it. There just seems to be a disconnect between what used to stimulate me sexually (get me horny) to getting that sexual feeling (full erection, etc). The endrocrine glands have been messed with by this stuff. I had a only 2 nights over the last 9 months when for some reason I dreamt of females in situations that got me super stimulated. I woke up with a hard on that would make a 16 year old proud. Therefore, I know at some physical level that I can get a hard erection.

Even the next day if I try to think of the things in these dreams that made me so horny, I can't do it. It's as though some of the fuses in my brain won't get my sexual reactions from 1 to 2, then 2 to 3, and so on. You're on point about the alcohol. I was a heavy drinker on the meds but only drink a few on Saturdays now. I don't even crave drinking as much as I did on the meds! SSRI's lead to so many bad things. Good Luck and try to enjoy the simple things in your life each day. I'm trying to do that and honestly it's helped quite a bit.

Thanks for the positive fedback Mike. I am 24 years old and my testosterone levels were checked and are fine, but what's really important is free testosterone. In My humble opinion I believe the SSRIs ''anyone of them'' Ruin the sexual reflexes/desire instantly. When I started on a low dose of Lexapro I was told by the shrink that it caused less sexual side effects , so im my mind I thought ''yes'' no sexual side effects with Lexapro. Now on the first damn f....king day taking the 10 mg dose I cound't orgasm and my dick was numb '' sorry to be so explicit'' , 14 hours after taking the pill i had sex and my genitals and orgasm were pleasureless, and I am drop dead serious and know for sure it was the scumbag lexapro and that's why I quit after 2 months . Soon I have to go for another full blood test including free T levels, estrodiol etc. I don't know about you but I don't just have a loss of sensation on my

genitals, all the there other areas that used to be nice to touch are dull- legs, lips, fingertips, palms, forearms . I even feel pain less , takes a screw to go deep in my skin before anything, I feel it but less. My advice to you would be not to drink any alcohol and eat healthy, you probably already know that lol ,but just saying because alcohol lowets t levels .

Best ,Adam

I believe for those with very low testosterone who also took anti-depressants/benzo, there can be a combination of both that contribute to PSSD. My testosterone levels are off the charts low for a man my age. I'm 40 years old and my testosterone levels would be considered low if I was 85 years old. My total testosterone was below 300. Like 280. 300 is the bottom level that any male alive might have including guys in nursing homes. I never realized this until I got off the meds and looked into my medical problems. I have an appointment with an endocrinologist next month and hopefully they can look into ways to raise my testosterone.

I do agree with Adam. I think that there is something not quite right with our balance (nuerotransmiters, etc) from the meds. In the past, even with my terrible testosterone levels, I could feel a spark or sexual feeling.. I don't even have a sexual imagination anymore. I believe that this lack of spark and sexual imagination was stolen by the meds. I hope I get it back because that is such a big part of our sexual being. The low T level/SSRI combo is really nasty. I really have to get this low testosterone treated for my overall health outside of sexual health as well. Good thread with good points.

Hi

But to you think testosterone is completely responsible for sexual sensation and orgasm, there are men with lower testosterone who have higher sex drives than dudes with high testosterone because drive is also in the head. I think the reason our drive and libido is low is because of the neuro transmitters being out of balance or fried.

Right on the money. General doctors who don't specilise in hormone treatment will just fob you off and tell you your levels are normal which they go off the broad range, which takes into account the whole population regardless of age. That was my mistake, but then I did research and found my t levels were not high enough for someone my age and now I'm on t therapy and it's helped make a big difference. If you have high estrodiol then yes that could be the bane for all of your problems. If you reduce it, it will free up more testosterone and your libido will no doubt come soaring back.My advice is don't take your doctors word for it when he tells you things are normal. Request a copy and check up what range you should be in for someone of your age and whether you suffer from syptoms relating to said, and do what you have to do to get the imbalance corrected and a lot of problems will be solved.> > >> > > I got some blood work done Monday.
