Guest guest
Hi Sara Filipendula and calendula sound fine, but I would add ulmus every evening, matricaria and althea to the tea and think of psyllium seeds for their soothing and bowel firming properties. Guest guest
<Patient ..most of large intestine removed...now has continuous urgency and diarrhoea. Sally responded: Filipendula and calendula sound fine, but I would add ulmus every evening, matricaria and althea to the tea and think of psyllium seeds for theirsoothing and bowel firming properties.> Dear Sara Further to Sally's ideas, could add a bit of cinnamon bark powder to Ulmus. Maybe more astringency could help - Myrica? It's good that she's having teas to avoid getting dehydrated. I wonder about her bowel flora balance, could probiotics help? I imagine the irritation is partly due to bile salts so anything that could sequester them would be worth a try.I have a vague memory about plant mucilages like pectin being able to sequester bile salts among other things.
