Guest guest
I have been on 18 grams inositol for about 5 weeks now and after about 4 weeks my pssd got much worse. I am basically completely impotent right now and i have very little sensation in my penis. Do you guys think it's just a phase and it can still get better or should i quit or lower my inositol dosage? Thanks. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Background about me: I'm a 27 year old male. I was put onPaxil > > >for social anxiety disorder. Guest guest
I tried it for a few days and thought it might be making things worse, so I stopped. I wouldn't recommend it based on my experience. Guest guest
Isn't that a big risk you're asking people to take? Can you guarantee that it will get better after getting worse? Guest guest
Also, we must keep in mind that our sexual response is greatly affected whether or not we are going through a good or bad " window " or our antidepressant/benzo withdrawal.. I have been taking inositol with choline for a few months. When I had a " good window " ,for about a month, i really felt as though the inositol and choline gave me more libido and sensitivity (I started at nothing). Right now, for the last 2 weeks, I am going through a " bad window " . Insomnia, irritability, etc. Correspondingly, even with the inositol and choline, I have no libido and barely any sensitivity right now. Thus, I feel we make our biggest recoveries from PSSD during our good window and when we are able to sleep well. I know this point has been discussed here before and I was sceptical of it. Now, I really believe it. I am continuing the inositol. I have gained sensitivity from it and hope I gain more in time. Good Luck to everyone. You're right, our brains and nervous systems are all very different. Keep your heads up. Guest guest
Yeah, it's interesting. I guess it makes sense that different things will help for different symptoms/types of PSSD. It might be useful to see which symptoms people have/had and what they tried that worked or didn't work. Maybe those with similar symptoms could come up with solutions that help their specific problems. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Background about me: I'm a 27 year old male. Guest guest
First of all apologies for the late response. i believe my recovery was a combination of many things that I have posted many times. D3 + exercise + fish oil + healthy diet. But most of all if you keep track of all the people that recovered it is thier attitude played a big role. don't forget that the stress of not being able to feel anything is frustrating. One should develop a a technique to be able to break free from the cycle of thought. All meditation including acupunture gives a temporary release from negative thinking. that is the time to rearrange your thoughts. Increase the release times frequency from negative thinking, you may give your body a change to recover. Definatley exercise is a key to thinking positively. I started inositol and choline after I recovered. it is additive effect. Attitude is key. My opinion Adil To: SSRIsex Sent: Monday, September 26, 2011 2:04 AMSubject: Re: Re: Finally cured after 2 years of hell: Any Updates? Adil what helped you recover. Besides the vitamin D3? Did the inositol choline contribute to recovery or did it just give an additive effect. I have used inositol+chloe on few occasions. I saw immediate results within two days. Everytime I used was a bout a 2 weeks cycle. The duration between each cycle was different. 1 or 2 months. Therefore, cycles were not related. Please note that I no longer have PSSD. I have recovered. I find vitD3 (5000IU, solgar brand) working well with me to increase desire. I usually see resutls within days. I know it does not make sense but that is my experience.\ Adil To: SSRIsex Sent: Thursday, June 2, 2011 5:31 PMSubject: Re: Finally cured after 2 years of hell: Any Updates? Guest guest
That's amazing, Adil; my stress levels are indeed horrendous mainly because of my inner pain due to work, PSSD, plus a lifetime with a lack of confidence (low self esteem). It is possible that 25% of people taking SSRI's do get PSSD as Dr Shipko say's, but in time they recover. But for those of us that have chronic depression, worries, insecurity, or anxiety, etc, the brain can't heal itself because of this stress. This is my hope anyway, and it keeps me going. I know I can heal from chronic stress with my own self help therapy ( a bit of ACT, primal therapy, and CBT) eventually with time. And after that I'm hoping my sex drive will return. Omega 3 (EPA), sufficient exercise, happiness, peace of mind, falling in love, and the 'plastic brain' [studied in neuroscience] - which can repair itself' when we are happy - will heal me.
