Guest guest
Maree... Never offended darling, got the hide of a rhino I have!!! But... I got rid of the clothes cause I was sick of them... I had worn them too many times. I have a wardrobe full of stuff that I am totally over. I have been wearing most of them for years. It is interesting, that even though I was always around about the same weight give or take a bit, my body has changed shape over the last year or so. Tops that used to fit, are now way too big cause my boobs have gone soggy... pants still fit around the waist, but are baggy britches around the bum and legs. Just sick of looking at those bloody clothes. I still have heaps in the robe. I am finding that the old trackie dacks are the fashion of choice these days. They are comfy and most have draw strings so I can pull them in. My theory is if I put one on with the joggers, I feel more energetic and more likely to go to Curves as well as having a walk in the arvo. I am taking your advice and doing the food diary... I must remember to do it every day for the week. Mel >> Now do not be offended about this but I think what you wrote about > starting our with an unrealistic dream may just be the hard truth. I > remember saying pre surgery that you could loose 10kgs before Italy, > I am just wondering how close you are? Guest guest
Mel, Thank goodness you had enough of them because I think I look quite stunning in your pink top today. Yes, I understand the shape thing, all my trousers look like jodpurs and my best friend says she is amazed at how 'little' my bum looks as far as sticking out. It used to be a sun verandah and I can't see it much but she has mentioned it several times. Good, eh?? Then there's the poor old boobs, no I won't depress myself..never mind. M. Guest guest
I am thrilled that you are getting the wear out of them... they were lovely, but just couldn't wear them again. I love the black and gold top (the sgt peppers one), but how many times can you wear the same top before you really hate looking at yourself in it. I have a beaded one as well... pure silk hand beaded, I just can't part with it, but I have been wearing it now for 10 years!!! One of you lovely gals is going to just be thrilled with it sooner or later. But at the moment it is folded in a drawer, so not taking up hanging space, and I might be able to wear it as an open jacket over a cami. I am so totally over the clothes that are still in my wardrobe, but if I toss them in your direction, I will have nothing to wear when I go out, so I keep them for just in case. I actually have bought very few clothes for 2 years now... just kept thinking I would loose weight. Its still not happening LOL!!! One day I will be wearing a Collette Dinnegan dress, that is something I am aiming for! Mel >> Mel, Thank goodness you had enough of them because I think I look > quite stunning in your pink top today. Guest guest
Maree.. I know the salon down in Bobbin Head Rd, but I don't know if I know Kirsty or not. I go to a salon called The Edge these days. I will keep my ears and eyes open. Mel >> I just thought Mel, you may know our beautiful KIRSTY. Guest guest
I know... how lucky am I !!! I have been nagging my husband to take me for over 10 years. Finally he agreed when my darling D and his wife said they would come with us.... it took the soul mate to say he was going to come with me to get the other two to agree. We both think that we would probably be better off just the two of us together... but we will drag the other two around with us so no one gossips about us LOL! I must get your address so I can send you postcards of sexy Italian men... I will be keeping a watchful eye out for them at all times! I am quite thankful at this point in time that I didn't get any more fill last week. I would have been panic struck worried about getting it out and this band not working properly. So far, apart from my not loosing weight, it has been a good, well behaved band. So, I must be good to it and treat it well and with a little bit of respect. I just wish it had helped me get a few extra kilo off. I am betwixed and between with summer clothes. None fit, and I can't buy more. I am going to have to go to the alterations person with my pants and get them altered. Never mind. Maree... you make me smile at least once a day. Mel >> Now lsiten to me, this isn't just your dream holiday, it is also mine. > You owe it to me, considering I can't come along, to have the best > possible time, try all the wonderful foods and vino and have some > gorgeous Italian stud pinch you on the bum. Guest guest
Maree... I spend as much time as I can at Port Macquarie in the summer time. I am there for two weeks in December, come home for Christmas and then head back up after new year for the whole of January. I love it... I lay on the beach, I surf and I love every minute of it. I lather myself in moisturiser, good old vaseline intensive care with aloe vera. I probably use a bottle a week... don't think it helps though. And.. I am not going to look at the Bulli photos... I am sure you still looked just lovely, and just in case you didn't, I don't want to ruin the image. Mel >> Today is your day Mel, have a geizer at the Bulli picnic shots, eek, I > look like I've been trekking the Nullabor I am so dried out and > frizzled. Guest guest
I feel like a "message board" nosy parker... but I just got the giggles and had to tell someone... Todays recipe... Lamb shankes in the slow cooker... lots of garlic, small french onions (or very small brown onions, rosemary, 8 lamb shanks (small that have been frenched), 1 1/2 cups red wine, 1 litre vege stock, fresh rosemary to taste. I have browned the shanks in the pan and tossed them in with the garlic (lots and lots of fresh whole cloves ~ stinky poo tomorrow)... the small brown onions are also left whole and the wine and the stock and on high! I am going to serve with lots of mash and green sugarsnap peas... YUMMO! And... a glass of good red. Mel >> Luv Ya!!>
Guest guest
I went into the butcher this morning and stood there like a stunned mullet trying to figure out what to have for dinner. He suggested the lamb shanks and handed me the recipe as well, he cooked it last weekend in his slow cooker and I was telling him about my buying one last week. So, that's how it happened. Then soul mate came along when we were heading back to the car and asked what was for dinner, so now they are coming too cause it sounded too good to miss. Gee Maree... that's not hard... a bit of red wine, I always have that on hand a few onions, bit of garlic and rosemary all the the pot, blind freddy could cook it. And you could throw that in your slow cooker tomorrow morning and have a slap up dinner tomorrow night, and again Monday night cause you will get two meals from one biggish shank I would think. Now... if I can just get the mash to have no lumps and remember to cook the sugarsnap peas all will be well. Mel >> Do you take boarders or overnight guests???? Guest guest
I can't bluddy cook... the butcher told me what to do... and the shanks already had rosemary on them so I added a bit more! Any dumb dumb could have done it. I have no idea what herb goes with beef. I'm with you, I put seeded mustard on my beef. Maybe you can add a few spoon fulls of that... or some dijon for flavour. Make sure you get the shanks that are "frenched"... ask the butcher to do them for you if they are not already done. Guest guest
Maree... you are not "pretty hot"... you are very hot. You looked absolutely gorgeous on Friday night... Loving the hair! I wish I was brave enough to go short with my hair... I love short cropped trendy hair and mine is a boring old bob! Guest guest
There is NOTHING boring about you Mel, the more I know you the more I like you. I told you I loved your hair up, it looked great. Thanks for the compliment, I am a trier I suppose, I will not let this age thing defeat me, not yet, anyway. Got to find a millionaire first. I am always trying with my hair, how it ever turns out is a miracle, I feel the same, boring, same old, same old, but I try. Every now and then I go red or something but I always come back to the blonde. The line in Dusty cracked me up and my friend roared laughing too as she nudged me in the ribs. When Dusty is dying and they say we better get the ambulance and she says 'if this is it get the hairdresser over here with the bleach, If I'm going out, I'm going out a blonde', that will be me I reckon. Guest guest
Howdy Maree... Yep, I am fine... just thought I would give you all day off me!!! Good to know that if I die at home alone someone will come looking for me!!! Nothing to report, too cold to go out... did the bloody boring Curves this morning and then came home and vegetated downloading music for my friends to take on their road trip in England... All English music, the Stones, Beatles, U2, Dire Straits...of course a bit of Robbie, Rockin Rod and then we have gotten a bit more adventurous with Oasis, which is actually very good. So, a boring old day. Had a million things to do and I have done none of it... Bugger! Mel >> Is everything okay? Guest guest
Oh... and I started the CD off with that silly song from the Vacation movies... Holiday Road... and "500 Miles" by the Proclaimers... Tom "It's Not Unusual"... and my favourite today "There's a Kind of Hush" by Hermans Hermits. Its actually been quite time consuming finding British music... but I found a site that gave me all sorts of wonderful singers and bands... I could make a hundred CD.s Mel > >> > Is everything okay? Guest guest
Spot on Maree... I agree with you. I am over this whole weight loss business. I have been trying for 20 years to be slimmer and maybe, just maybe I am not meant to be slim. Maybe I am meant to be well built and well worn. I am feeling better thanks to the loss of the durries (still mourning for them though), I have cut my drinking habit in half, and my eating habit even more. I am going to the gym three times a week which is something I never thought would ever happen. I am able to walk around and not puff so much, so that's good. And the best thing of all... I have met you lot. So, I am not complaining, just living. If I can't wear size 12, so bluddy what!!! Everyone is telling me how good I look, so that will do for the time being. I am off on a wonderful holiday, I am going to have the best time with my long suffering hubby and soul mate and his gorgeous wife, so what more could one want in life. I'm happy!!! Mel >> Well, Darl, I strongly believe the 'secret'is knowing what we are, > liking ourselves in spite of it and buggar everyone else. > I am a lot of things and none of them spell murder, rape, theft, > bludger, dirty or anything else to be ashamed of.> I'm not perfect but I understand that everyone's idea of perfect is > different anyway.> I just AM and so are you, who gives a hoot??
