here's a little teaser for you.

I saw a patient yesterday, female, late 20s generally very healthy, who I have

been treating for infertility for a while. In addition to herbs, she is taking

the foresight preconception multi vitamin supplement.

She showed me the palms of her hands and the soles of her feet, both of which

were decidedly orange in colour although cold to the touch.

Can anyone tell me what this is?

Thanks,

Frances Kershner

Hi Alison, when I was at Uni (many years ago!!) I had a friend who was

constantly dieting and living, as far as I could gather, mainly on carrots

and carrot juice. She also developed the orange hands and feet phenomenon in

addition to an orangey facial hue. Very disconcerting in your late teens, or

at any time I should imagine.

Hope you are well

Regards, Sue Salmon

Dear Frances,

I've a feeling its also a symptom of thyroid malfunction - overactive I

think. I wonder if there's a thyroid component to the infertility?

Unfortunately I can't remember where I got that information from but hope

its useful. Best wishes, nne
