Link between duct ectasia and plugged ducts?

Hi!Thank you ahead of time:)I'm wondering if anyone here has ever seen or knows of a correlation between mammary duct ectasia and persistent plugged ducts. I have a mom who had duct ectasia in the past and suffers from re-occuring plugged ducts and wonders why.

She is working on a better quality fats in her diet and now taking lethicin, but I was curious if the two were related and can't find any info in my resources:)-- HamiltonLa Leche League Leader
