Guest guest
Betsy, Did you get any responses to your question? Are kids that have been doing a form of chelation and then switch to TD-DMPS seeing immediate behavior issues? My son has chelated for years with DMSA, ALA, oral DMPS, and TTFD(trio). We are currently using MTP with good results. We are planning on trying the TD-DMPS very soon. I have heard that the first couple weeks are OK, then a regressive time for a few weeks, then progress time again. So we were thinking to start a couple weeks before Christmas holiday to keep the bulk of the regression time out of the school classroom. I wonder if this timeline is true for children that are already doing some form of chelation??? Did you continue using the MTP on the off TD-DMPS days? Trudy TD DMPS question Good morning all.... I started my 6 year old son on TD DMPS on Wednesday night. On Thursday and Friday I noticed that he was a little more argumentative, but wasn't sure if that was the DMPS or we had started back to school (year round program) after a three week break. We had chelated for almost a year using DMSA then DMSA/ALA and because of horrible yeast had to stop. For the last 10 months, we have been using MTP II. Has anyone who has been chelating for a while, then switched to TD DMPS seen behaviors immediately? He also had a big meltdown on Friday at school and his teacher reported that he had been a bit more " willful " on Thursday and Friday. I gave him another dose last night and will have the full weekend to observe him. Thanks for your help... Guest guest
Hi, Trudy: Logic would have it that those kids who have had a lot of their metals removed would have less side effects, but in my small group I've seen everything, and all of them have had chelation before. One child has done wonderfully with no side effects, only marvelous benefit (mind-blowing actually; she had only used TTFD before, and is still using it on the off-day). One had side effects pretty quickly, taking weeks to subside, and the others, the majority, with the pattern you mention: a few weeks of improvement and then severe stimminess and autistic regression in some ways while retaining the cognitive and language gains, coming out of the side effects variably and some not yet after quite a few weeks. It remains a huge mystery, like a lot of other things about our kids, and leads me to think much more is going on here than just mercury removal. Guest guest
Thank you Jaquelyn! I was hoping that logic would take over here too! : ) At least I hope we follow with the majority. Even though you have seen a wide range of reactions, it really helps me to hear the range and the reactions and know what to expect. I would be able to live with the stimminess if the cognitive and language gains remained!! Interesting that your one child continues to use TTFD on the off days. We are hoping to continue the MTP on the off days. He does so well on it! Thank you for your observations! Guest guest
Dr. McCandless, The regression you mentioned about stimming yet keeping cognitive and language skill is exactly how I doughtier responded to Valtrex last year before chelation. She's taking it again while chelating with oral DMPS and is responding much better. Shari TD DMPS question > > > > Good morning all.... > > I started my 6 year old son on TD DMPS on Wednesday night.
