Guest guest Posted April 22, 2005 Report Share Posted April 22, 2005 i;ve had silicone mentor implants for a year and a half and still havent been monitored by my doctor for side affects he knows ive been sick with allllll the same side affects as you guys and even went to mayo clinic(which did part of the study) and he still hasnt filled out any papers to send in to fda or whoever is suppose to be watching its all a big farse i had breast cancer and my doctors recommended mentor adjustable silicone low bleed shell slicone implants to be a study for 5 yrs well its been almost 2 and all of it sickly i cant find anyone who will or can run a silicone test mentor sent me a boob in the mail yes an implant sitting on my counter and noone knows what ot do with it maybe i will bronze it!!!!! The main thing for you is to decide what you're going to need to do to get well! I'm so glad you found this group! Where do you live? . . . We have a list of recommended surgeon in our archive section. Your implanting surgeon is usually the worse choice. You will need someone who will remove your implant " en bloc " - i.e. remove the capsule with the implant still inside to avoid spilling the contents of the implant into your chest cavity. You should also have drains. You can feel much, much better . . . it takes discipline, time and patience. But life can be good again. What can we do to help you?
