Hi Pyretta,

The 375ml (smaller) box ( Popper style) of the Velish spicy Pumpkin and Veg flavour has 150kj/ 3.7g carbs per 100 grams, so it's safe- just!!!

I remember in Weight Watchers, when I was doing the points system a few years back, all pumpkin, carrot and corn on the cob counted as zero points, making them free selections, so I'm wondering now why they're taboo for prospective bandsters??? Also same for celery / salsa etc.(not questioning you, but rather the dieticians)

Thanks for your tips. I think I've done well to get through two days honestly- and I've just got the "painters in", so that also explains my added hunger. (sorry blokes)

,

I'm not a doctor or a dietition but here's what they told me:

Potatoes, and pumpkin contain lots of starchs which our bodies convert

into sugars which are then used as energy or or stored as fat. Vegies

like corn, carrots and peas contain high amounts of natural sugars

which are again either used for energy or stored as fat.

The other vegies don't contain as many sugars or starches so are less

likely to be stored as fat. I think I even heard somewhere that it

takes more energy to eat and process celery that you can get from it.

Making it the perfect food for weight loss.

If anyone else knows any better I'd love to know. What I wouldn't give

for a nice piece of home grown pumpkin. Which I have grown by the way

and the family is enjoying without me.
