Guest guest
Hi , Sounds like you have a never-ending battle! I did run extreme fever for several months, and it was not being caused by any of the chronic diseases-- was due to perforated duodenal ulcer, & perforated peritoneum. This makes me ask did they give you any GI tests? I don't know what the likliehood of your having toxemia (resulting toxic accumulations of fluid internally) are, but it is very hard to rule out. I learned while hospitalized for this that a number of such cases (fever) are left undiagnosed. The only way mine was identified was through exploratory surgery. I think your priority needs to be medical Dx here, & the Soc.Sec. will need to wait until they can Dx & treat you. However, if it extends undiagnosed, it is disabling & grounds for S. Sec approval. But this would be most likely on appeal. They would want to wait (in absence of a Dx) to see that you would be disabled for a year. Not a pretty situation. What you need most is the exhaustive testing it sounds like your docs are doing. Ken At 04:34 PM 7/2/98 -0700, you wrote: >Please share this with the group. My first denial came in March, stating that I will be better and able to work within a year. Well, it is now July. I still run fevers of over 105', almost daily. I have been seen at University Hospital, and now National Jewish. ALL the docs I have seen (15 since January) are all concerned over the fevers, and are all testing for FUO which is the primary, CFIDS is secondary, and if we can find the FUO, maybe can help the CFIDS. > >Anyhow, yesterday my SSDI caseworker told me she would be presenting the file to the doc today for signature, and she would highly recommend approval. Today, she called and said he will not sign, because, although National Jewish is now waiting on results from 14 tests run June 22, there is no evidence that I am sick! Some of the many things they are testing for are LYME, Epstein-Barr, PARVO, Mono, etc. > >I just needed to vent! > >Thanks! > > > Turbin Web Development, Business Publication, & Marketing BizWize- A Free 'Ezine To Keep You On Top Of New BizOps & Strategies: Subscribe-biz@...
