Also, it took 15 minutes for me to go from in the running for a job to out of running ... all because I don't have a car of my own. Guest guest Posted September 14, 1998 Report Share Posted September 14, 1998 , Everybody has a flaw or so, and one of mine is that I always feel the need to find better solutions, overcome obstacles, improve on how things are. This has been a great gift in many ways, and I have gotten to see many of my ideas come to life in the kinds of things I've done. On the downside, even when I have been successful, I was driven to more challenges. I could and possibly should have just settled for how things were at some point. My life & family could have perhaps been more stable, but I don't really know. Anyway, I thrive on challenge. Unfortunately I've got some I would rather not have. I think you express some similar characteristics, and I suspect they will push you forwardto explore yourself more. I know that the US has a significant number of programs for foreign students. It could be worth investigating. To the best of my knowledge, education & living costs can be reasonably paid, and I'm certain that a scholarly person like you would be generally welcome in the world of academicism (if there is such a word).
