Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I finally got to the gym this week. I haven't exercised since before explant and then sat in the sauna for about 7 minutes. Much better than my last experience. I must have been in too long. Anyway, I do all of this so that I can start to feel better just to get a note in my door about my dogs. My Mom lives in a condo and they do not allow dogs. The surrounding apartments do. So dogs are all over the place. I was told that my dogs must be removed from the premises by April 28th. How the hell do you find a home for two dogs in a week? Not to mention the emotional toll it will take on me. I was told that if they are not removed within that time, I would be fined $100 A DAY and if I don't pay, legal action will be taken. I will be responsible for all legal fees also. I became sick immediately. I was unable to sleep all night last night and when I woke up, the puffiness I had before explant was back in my face. My Mother said that it was so bad that my upper lip looked like it was stretched tight. I DON'T EVEN WALK MY DOGS ON THE GROUNDS. I PUT THEM IN THE CAR EVERY MORNING AND DRIVE THEM DOWN TO A NEARBY PARK! I SLEEP WITH THEM ALL AFTERNOON AND THEN AT DINNER TIME THEY GO OUT AND I ONLY LET THEM GO RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY MOM'S PATIO AREA. THIS IS WHILE EVERYONE ELSE IS WALKING THEIR DOGS FREELY. THEY RENT WE OWN. MAKES ALOT OF SENSE DOESN'T IT!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????? To make a long story short, I tried contacting the ass that wrote the letter to me but he didn't answer his door or phone. I was ready to kill him! Everyone around here knows I'm with my Mom because I'm ill. This morning I spoke to someone in the office about it and he said to write a letter asking for an extension as I will probably (pray for me!) be out of here by September! If anyone is considering living in a condo DON'T! It is a living hell! I'm not sure how to get better when I'm constantly under stress. I love my dogs dearly and they are all I have left. I do not plan on giving them up. If I have to live in a car I will! Beth S.__________________________________________________

Guest guest
Hi Beth, Are there other people in your same situation? If so, they can’t make make an example of you by forcing you to get rid of your dogs, everyone else has to do so as well. Also, is there any paper work that your mother signed or that was given to her stating that she couldn’t have dogs and the consequence of having them? I have to wonder how they can enforce the $100 a day rule. Finally, I doubt they can legally give you one week’s time to do anything, it is far from reasonable. I hope you get everything figured out in your favor. How absurd of them to get after you when you have been no problem. Do you have any attorneys that are friends? I’d call them if you do. Good luck. Guest guest
Hi Kenda, No. Most people in the condos do not like animals. Alot of old people around here. When my Mom first purchased the condo, you were able to have dogs but an ass got on the condo board and changed the rules for everyone. It really makes the value of her condo go way down since most people have a dog. I'm told that legally they can do anything they want. They have set the rules. Some people can break them (people on the board) nothing is said and nothing can be done about it. I have spoken to an attorney about the situation and he said that his advise would be for my Mom to sell and run for the hills as soon as possible. However, she is 80 years old, has a beautiful river view and is not willing to give it up. Beth S.Kenda Skaggs <kdskaggs@...> wrote: Hi Beth,Are there other people in your same situation? Guest guest
You're right. I hadn't thought about that happening, but it did to me as well. I lost everyone including my husband. I'm lucky that I restarted my life and remarried. Everyone that is in my life now only knows the sick me. You will be able to restart too. It takes some time, but I don't feel bad anymore about that other life; this one is much better even though I am still implanted and sick. I can also honestly say that everyone in my life now, including my husband of 4 years, are people I first met online. What did we do before the internet?? What area are you in? There may even be someone on here willing to help board the dogs for you. > > Hi Everyone, > > > > I finally got to the gym this week. Guest guest
Hi Beth, I can see where they can make rules where dogs cannot be on the public grounds. I can’t for the life of me see where they can decide whether or not you can have a pet indoors, especially after the sale. Can your attorney write them a letter challenging their rules? Guest guest
Hi Beth; I have dogs that I love also. Mine are Dalmatians. My husband calls them Damnations! hehe So, this is a power issue with these dog-hating condo cronies. It's sometimes difficult to deal with people who are not " dog " people. They themselves seem to be a different breed. My suggestion? Accept it, and be very very polite for your puppy dogs' sake. You don't have to like it, but it's always been my experience that if I'm very very sweet, then the other party has a much more difficult time being the mean ones. And perhaps the powers that made the demand did not know you are very ill. Perhaps they simply hate dogs, and were enforcing a rule. Really, I would recommend direct communication and smiles and politeness and I don't know where you are located, but that Southern Belle persona does wonders. My dogs thought our nearest neighbor's dog (a cute little foo-foo thing) was a long-haired rabbit, and they chased it, bit it, hurt it, mauled it, and almost killed it. So, I have been in dog conflicts with people, believe me. My dogs usually chase rabbits daily, so I could understand where the Dallies were coming from! I mean, when they told me they thought it was just a rabbit, I understood. The neighbor did not. So, I had to become HUMBLE and use DIRECT COMMUNICATION and go to her on her turf and try to work it out. Needless to say, I paid the vet bill, and the little foo-foo got a lovely gift basket when he arrived home from me and the Dallies. They didn't mean to, honest! So, be encouraged. If you are kind, and you let them know you are disabled with an illness, and that you DO want to leave with your dogs, then perhaps they will realize and have some compassion. I'm often surprised when I am honest and humble with persons I have conflicts with that it often works out. If it continues to be a brick wall, you might ask if there could be a compromise, and could the powers that be suggest a compromise, as your pets are helping you to heal, and you want to heal quickly so you can leave the condo. OK, I'm not a psychologist; I'm just a dog-loving explant patient...best wishes....oh, also, your vet might have some insight into a compromise also since they deal with dog problems daily....Jackie
Guest guest
Dear Beth, Assuming your mother owns the condo, there was a contract setting down conditions when she bought the place. If you'll read the papers, you may find that pets are permitted. Also, if the residents circulate a petition to keep pets, the " owner " may decide to grandfather in the residents who are alread there with pets. Perhaps he could set aside a Pet zone. . . However, I don't understand the " owner " part, unless it's a rental. You you know anyone you could call for their opinion? City attorney? City manager, etc? Also, most larger cities have foster programs for pets where volunteers take care of pets under emergency conditions . . . You don't give up ownership, and it's usually a temporary arrangement. Often times they specialize in certain breeds. Regardless Beth, Stress is something you MUST control .. . . It can set you back overnight. I'm 12 years explanted and still have to avoid stress. Take a deep breath and turn it over to God . . . He has an amazing way of taking care of our problems. Hugs and prayers, Rogene
Guest guest
Shari, Thanks. I really hope this works out. I can't imagine not having them in my life.
