Hi Friends,

Thank you to all of you who responded to my post. I do take some comfort

knowing that I am not alone.

I've got some calls out to some therapists in this area who were suggested to

me. Any one have suggestions on how you interview a therapist? I've been to

a few, and had some real doosies.

I have also taken the day off, which is something I never do. I'm going to

the pain clinic today to discuss the findings of the EMG and what to do next.

I tend to leave my body when at the doctors office, and a lot of the time I

bring someone with me, so I have someone else there to " hear " with me. I have

a difficult time trying to explain myself and be heard.

This seems to be a never ending situation and I am overwhelmed by it all.

Everything seems to run over each other as far as pain and symptoms are

concerned. I have FMS/MPS, CFIDS, 4 surgeries on lumbar spine, another

herniated disc, drop foot, chronic siatica, migraines, and possible nerve

impingement in Cervical spine. I am now using a cane because I have been

falling. I make a real effort to pick up my left foot and leg but sometimes

it's not there for me. Not a pretty picture !!

I read the post this morning about feeling your feelings etc. I accidentally

deleted it. This sounds like what I need to be doing. Could someone let me

know what the book was?

Thank you to all of you.

Am a little over-burdened right now & responding to posts on the fly.

But the most important thing for me about interviewing & interacting with

doctors for me has been writing down issues & questions, and making sure they

are gotten to. I haven given various docs a copy of my list, & my current one

just hands them back to me. He does respond to the issues though. He learned

the hard way.

When I first started seeing him, I started running down my list. He

asked me how many items there were. I said seven. He responded " well, just

give

me the top three' " . I did just that. Some weeks later I made another

appointment. When I saw him, I told him I was having trouble with

hypertension.

The doc played perfect straight-man on this and asked how long I

had it.

I told him " for many years. " His predictable response was why didn't I tell

him

before. So of course I had to say " it was fourth on my list, and you asked me

to give you only the first three. "

After that, he took me very seriously.
