Guest guest
Thanks, . It certainly makes a difference if we're talking about delaying breastfeeding until after the rotavirus has been given, which could horribly interfere with getting breastfeeding established at all, vs. possibly delaying breastfeeding only a couple of hours! I hate how the media here always goes for whatever will get folks riled up, instead of giving the true story. How many U.S. mothers with babies in NICU, who will be advised to give the rotavirus vaccine, will be thinking they need to avoid breastfeeding and give formula instead?? They don't read the article or even the abstract, just what's reported in the media. Grrrrr. Dee Kassing>> Hello, Ladies.> I have been seeing articles that state the CDC says mothers should avoid breastfeeding so that the rotavirus vaccine will "take" better in the infant. I haven't been able to find the actual CDC announcement or article to see if folks are misunderstanding the statement. Nonetheless, it seems like this is the message that people are getting, no matter what might actually have been said.> How to combat this one?? Sigh.> Dee Kassing>
