Guest guest
If you have had them in for 2 yrs I would definately remove the capsules. Are you going back to your original PS for explant? Guest guest
I guess it would depend on if the doctor chose to use the en bloc method of removal or not. With en bloc, the implant is removed with the scar capsule as a whole unit (the saline is not drained first), so this would require a larger removal incision. I had a lift, so my scars are larger due to the anchor mastopexy. However, it is entirely possible to do a thorough job of implant removal and total capsulectomy using smaller incisions. The scar tissue is cut open, the implant drained and removed, then the scar tissue is removed as well, and this may not mean any more residual scars than you had with implant, with a skilled explant surgeon. It is definitely a more involved procedure to remove all of the scar tissue. That is why many doctors don't like to even attempt it. It adds time, expense and required skill to the procedure. But, it is vital to our recovery! Good doctors will know and respect this! Guest guest
Lo, This is the kind of thing PS's tell patients when they don't want to bother removing the capsules. Is this the implanting surgeon? . . . They are usually the worst choice for explant since they are in denial that their implants caused a problem. IMHO, I would find another doctor! I continue to be amazed that God lead my explanting doctor to remove my capsules 12 years ago! . . . Later I called his office and found that, as recently as last year, he usually doesn't. But, in my case he did. .. . the records clearly state that . . . I saw the photos of them, and they confirmed it, based on the records! Guest guest
Dearest Ladies: Thank you and all the other ladies who have worked so hard to make a " Miracle " happen. It is sad that our Lynda could not attend the FDA hearings. I have a favour to ask of all of you. My rheumatologist is willing to contact the director of microbiology here at the UofA to have my blood tested for platinum. I had Dr. LyKissa's address and his phone number, but I just cannot find it. When I spoke to Dr. LyKissa, he said that I was sick because of the platinum in my breast implants. My doctor asked about the assay studies, he also told me that there was no platinum in breast implants. He is open and would like to see the list of chemicals in breast implants. I will have to go to our old computer for this information. This is a teaching hospital and they have opened the doors to me, they have seen me near death. We think that they believe that I'm sick from my implants. If anyone can help me with this I would be so happy...thank you...love...Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`````````` Re: should i definitly remove capsules- under the muscle- doctor says thin? > > Lo, > > This is the kind of thing PS's tell patients when they > don't want to bother removing the capsules.
