Guest guest
Hi Beth, All I had ever read regarding Dr. Kolb was the Glamour article that was posted here yesterday. It really surprised me, it wasn’t what I expected to read about her after all that has been mentioned about her here. I’m glad her consent form is truly informed. I don’t believe the FDA will ban all implants but if doctors were forced to truly explain to us what our risks are, a lot of women would forgo implants, wanting health more than larger breasts. I know the three surgeons I saw all told me there were absolutely no PROVEN health risks associated with saline implants. I should have asked what their definition of proven is! Even when I cancelled my BA appointment last week, the PS went on to tell me how implants are truly safe and he would have no problem implanting me if I was one of his family members. Perhaps in all the statistics, doctors lose track of what happens to their patients. Kenda Hi Kenda, Dr Kolb is often misquoted by the media. It's my understanding she has a personal medical reason for having implants. She runs tons of tests on herself and feels the knowledge helps her treat her patients. I do believe she supports true informed consent, and if you were to see her consent form, it is very explicit concerning autoimmune disease. She does so many explants, to the extent they've brought on another doctor in her practice. Whether one agrees with her or not, she is a very interesting doctor. hugs, Beth Opinions expressed are NOT meant to take the place of advice given by licensed health care professionals. Guest guest
Kenda, One of the problems with the studies used to get implants approved is that, if a woman has her implants removed, she's removed from the study. When she leaves all the problems go with her! Duh!!!!!!!! Even then, there is no standard of care that calls for removing the implants properly. . . so often doctors tell women that they won't get better after their implants are removed . . . and they don't because the toxic junk is left behind and the woman doesn't know how to detox! Guest guest
Hi Rogene, That was one thing that really impressed me about a lot of the women on this list, there is a lot of knowledge about detox. I know that detoxing is what cured me from fibro and the list of other autoimmune issues I had. Guest guest
Kenda, Unfortunately, the lack of detox information on the part of our doctors is why we have to keep this list going! . . . . The more I see how much better sick women can get by detoxing, the more I have to wonder what wrong in conventional medicine! If they can get people well through detoxing, are they more interested in keeping people ill so they can make money? Sorry if I sound cynical! With ever-rising health costs, it only makes sense for doctors to get off their duff and think out of the box! My doctor retired so I'm checking out new doctors . . .. Saw the first one yesterday. . . He really didn't know what to make of me . . . Told me that he was going to have to get busy and do some reading if he was going to be my doctor. Guest guest
Hi Rogene, You are right, there is a lack of knowledge amongst the MDs. I don’t understand why they don’t get it. We’re like cars, you take care of us, feed us right and supplement us and we handle well. Would you ever put water in your gas tank and expect your car to run properly? To me, it’s common sense.
