Re: Respiratory distress again + Is this history or a mystery??? Dearest Lea, I am going through the same right now myself, I could not even move or turn over in bed it was so bad. Your reports sound exactly like mine, except that my highest peak flow is never over 250. I was in the hospital all last night getting iv's of potassium, magnesium, calcium, salumedrol, and glucose for dehydration, even when I don't appear dehydrated, my cells are. I have a very high IGM of 150 and over and my compliment c4 is 4-8. I am always on anti fungals, they have me use mycelx lozenges daily and diflucan for 4 days once a month, (I have thrush, usually starting in the throat, all the time and get fungus growths on my lower legs and tops of feet) along with zpak at the beginning of each month and medpak at that time to. I take Advair 250/50 1 puff 2x day, Accolate 20 mg 2x day, Zyrtek 1x day, KDur 25 meq er 2x daily, nebulize every 2 hours or as needed, and take breathine 5mg every 5 hours, which is usually an emergency medicine only but inhalers make me cough too much to get any good from them so I cannot do them, they said it is sensitivity to the freon which is the propellant and was also a chemical in many of the implants, thus the cause of the sensitivity. This helps me alot though as I said my peak flow is never over 250. I am becoming more and more sensitive to everything everyday. I have developed non thrush plaques all over the inside of my mouth this past few weeks so more blood work for more connective tissue disorders, the problem there being, I have all the symptoms of these darn things, but test neg or borderline and always for different things, nothing ever remains the same, and it is too confusing and unstable to get many real diagnoses. My resting rate is back up to 120 and it could be the meds but the silicone is so diffuse in my chest that they cannot see the heart on ultra sound or mri. The enlargement comes and goes as the inflammation throughout my body does so we know that it is vascular inflammation causing it. I get petichae and purpurs all over my body which is a big sign of systemic inflammation which can also cause the lungs to inflame even without asthma attacks. The muscle in the chest becomes damaged with the silicone leaks and loose their ability to expand so much when we breathe which causes the extreme tightness, that is beyond what a person would normally feel during an attack. There is no fibrosis PTL!!!! but there is silicone in the chest and throat very diffusely and if my body temp raises at all it swells causing tighter airways and sometimes even without inflammation.( it is very important to always have a fan close as this does help lessen the attacks alittle) This all is beyond the apprehension of most doctors and researches. Why I do not know. Is it that they really can't understand or because they choose not to understand or are afraid to for the political outcomes to their jobs. Then again, if they could make us well again, they would lose a fortune in income. I refuse to go to or stay at the hospital anymore and be treated like a parasite or piece of meat. It has been 9 years of degrading humiliation and I can't take it anymore, I had no choice last night so went only on the stipulation that they treat me and let me come home. So far I have tested for and been positive for Raynaud's, Sjogren's, Vascular inflammation due to hyper sensitivities, vascular disease, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, anti phospholid syndrome with anti lupus factor (which is cardio and vascular related) but due to hyper sensitivities, atypical connective tissue disease and my blood work always shows abnormal wbc distribution (s) suspect: atyp. lymphs, blasts, eos, imm. grans.. My sed rate tends to go up and down as down the t4 nd t5 for thyroid. The post inflammation scarring comes from past infection. Almost every lung infection and asthma attack causes and leaves some scarring, this accumulates and lessens the volume, that is one good reason to do whatever you can physically everyday. I am in an abusive situation that I am now trapped in and get no help and if I do, he only makes my attacks worse by causing much stress through his anger and selfishness.
