Guest guest
I agree with the docter been pro pharmacuticals, however I am a 25 year old male and normally a young man converts the T4 TO T3 easily, Plus I am not tired one bit, so the synthroid must be working. I wouldn't mind trying natural thyroid however I would like to meet the pig that they extract the thyroid from . To: SSRIsex Sent: Monday, April 30, 2012 2:18:41 PM Subject: Re: Age 22 male,PSSD,POIS,Anhedonia... If I may chime in, I would consider looking at a natural thyroid medication rather than Synthroid which is synthetic and only contains the T4 form of the thyroid hormone. Your body also has T3. Natural thyroid such as Armour or Naturethroid have both T3 & T4 in a mix similar to your body. I am also hypothyroid and am unable to convert T4 to T3 so synthroid for me is useless. A combo of both works wonders. If your thyroid is low it can cause sexual dysfunction. In the beginning of my PSSD I had total genital numbness and did not take any thyroid supplements. I now do and the numbness has pretty much gone away. I'm not sure if it is due to the thyroid or just the healing process that has been taking place over the past 3 1/2 years. None-the-less, my hypothyroid symptoms have been effectively treated on natural thyroid. For more info on the T3 / T4 issue, go to Google and search "T4 only treatment" and you will see that for a huge number of people Synthroid doesn't completely work. You may go round and round with your Dr. about it because most, as we have all learned, are pro pharmaceuticals and anti-natural, but check it out and find a Dr. who will work with you on the natural T3/T4 combo. > > > > > > About a month ago I went to a natural pharmacist and he determined that I have hypothyroidism type 2 (something I always suspected I had but doctors always told me that my thyroid test results were "normal")and low adrenal gland functioning (no surprise there). > > > > > > I mention this to you because a lot of your symptoms sound like signs of adrenal fatigue and hypothyroidism. Guest guest
Hi Hikergirl 3-4 months off paxil everything returned , sexual function, anxiety etc. 6 months after paxil when I took lexparo I noticed genital numbness worst than any other, worst than paxil, numbness aftet first dose. I took Lexapro lowest dose for 2 months and then was switched right away to Luvox after quiting, the few days after being off Lexapro for 3-4 days and on Luvox ,I notice my libido come back a little and than after a few days the same awful shit, I think Lexapro is the foundation cause for my sexual dysfunction, Luvox may cause sexual side effects however Lexapro is the worst. Not completely sure if it's only the lexapro and not the luvox. Well i was on luvox for a year i still had awful sexual side effects, numbness etc. To: SSRIsex Sent: Tuesday, May 1, 2012 9:41:03 AM Subject: Re: Age 22 male,PSSD,POIS,Anhedonia... Hi Adam, I am certainly not an expert but can give you my theory. I just posted a little while ago that I believe my pssd was caused by doctors changing my antidepressants - from zoloft to cymbalta to remeron to lexapro. It sounds like something similar in your case going from paxil to lexapro then luvox. Did you notice any negative changes when you went on lexapro? Or did it just hit you with luvox? My doctor gave me the impression that lexapro caused genital anesthesia in a lot of patients that he prescribed it to. As far as the synthroid, I don't have any experience with that. I just truly believe that man-made hormones are horribly destructive. Guest guest
I was only on 5mg of Lexapro (no other type of medication). Sexual disfunction started on it and became worse after I stopped it. Guest guest
I was on 40 mg of Citalopram and my sexual disfunction started in the first week and became worse after i stopped it. The feelings came back again but after 2 months the same symptoms of sexual disfunction returned worsened. I hope the symptoms will decrease again with time. To: SSRIsex From: rscbebe@...Date: Tue, 1 May 2012 23:48:38 -0700Subject: Re: Re: Age 22 male,PSSD,POIS,Anhedonia...
