Guest guest
Amen! I am coming up with the same problem. There is one system that an IBCLC has put out but there are things about it I'm not fond of ..... so I keep looking and hoping there will become a way to link mothers and babies. > > I know we all just recently discussed digital charting/EMRs, etc. I have > long wanted to go digital and have been toying with various styles, etc. One > issue I keep coming up against is that I currently make one chart for the > dyad rather than separate mother/baby patient files. Guest guest
I double chart in EMR using a lactation-specific template applied to a medical record. Some of the stuff is set up to automatically " populate " from one chart to the other but it is still a lot of copy and pasting. It is definitely time consuming because we do extensive charting. Having a lactation specific template is helpful and in the case of some common issues I can apply something standard, for example an " engorgement " template, which generates text (but I can still modify it to accurately describe specifics for the Mom).
