Guest guest
I haven't read the posts lately even though I have my laptop with me. I was really sick and needed a hurnia surgery on my belly button. My red cell count was so low it was dangerous. That's why I got 4 units of blood in blood transfusions, plus my kidneys were all messed up. I got albumin, I think it is, protein, plus shots that made my pancreas not work so hard, I think they said and other medicines. I got out for two days and had to go back because my routine labs bilirubin was 13 and it was 6 when I left the hospital two days befoe, and my INR was 3.something. The surgeon is hoping some of the skin they sewed together on my belly button that he's hoping won't die and turn black, so we have to watch it and let them know right away if it turns black but now that I'm back in the hospital, they all say it looks good. They cut out the bruised, thin skin and sewed the rest together. They drained 2-1/2 liters of fluid out of my belly before the surgery and another liter during the surgery. He says I already accumulated more fluid in my belly. I have to have more drained tomorrow. The doctors down at my local clinic were making me sick by giving me too many water pills. The doctors gave us some scarey news. They said I need to get the word out that I need a healthy person with my blood type O to donate part of their liver to me because otherwise I'll probably die before I get to the top of the list for a whole liver from a person who just died. I am very very sick and need at least a partial liver to keep me alive. Immediate family would be the closest match so my brother is going to be tested to see if he is a match. He has the same blood type as me O+, but the person just needs to have type O blood, I guess, and the antibodies and different things have to match too. When the doctors told us that me and just bawled our heads off. Even the head nurse had tears in her eyes and hugged me. We got kind of close. I have to recruit people for a partial liver because they can't do that. said a guy at work is willing to be tested. The hepatologist told me today that I have moved up higher on the list now. I've been getting plasma and platelets today and electrolytes since my sodium, potassium, and manganese were low. Penny

One day we will all meet, and do a big group hug. Update - in Hospital I haven't read the posts lately even though I have my laptop with me. Guest guest
Penny, You are precious! I am praying for you and I hope your brothers tests work out. I'm O+ as well and if I was there you could have half mine in a minute!!! Try to stay positive. I know this is hard and can get overwhelming to deal with. Are you ok with support? Are the kidneys doing any better? I feel so bad sometimes when I know friends hurt and I can't do anything. I'm sure most of the group here feels that way and if we could all be there with you we would. When your up to it please let us know how you're doing as difficult as that may be. Hang in there and don't give up! I know you're strong. You can beat this! Stay positive! Even when it hurts and you want to cry. My wife became friends with her nurses as well and when the doctors came in to tell us the same news all of us were crying. Me, Insoon, the nurses and even the doctor was teared up. Honestly Penny, I don't know what to say. I want to be positive for you and cheer lead. At the same time when I read your story I relive what my wife went through. and it breaks my heart that your sick. I know that you will get your partial liver transplant and I want you to stay strong and live! MaC preciouspenny3 wrote: I haven't read the posts lately even though I have my laptop with me.
