I'm finding an extremely high number of people, including my

brother, living in really bad air and not knowing it is dangerous.

My house had a musty smell in the basement entry but the rest of

home did not smell musty so thought it was the way all old homes

smelled, particularly in basement. However I have learned

differently about smells in houses.

Anyway, I drove by some nice looking apartments today, there was

no 'for rent' sign but somone outside so asked and he said yes there

was apartment for rent and went in to find someone to show me. It

is close to where I live and so neat and clean looking. Woman came

out to show apt but asked me to excuse her since she was " under the

weather " . The new me fears everyone that is sick has mold illness

or at least is sick from their environment, so now I am not

interested to see apartment at all but decide this is silly, so up I

go. She has an apartment just like one that is available. It is

right across the hall from hers so she has the key and lets me

in...whoa!! the stink!!! I tried to hold my breath and think of a

polite way to leave quickly but politely looked through apartment

nodding to her remarks, faked some interest and took a big breath

after I got outside. It's as if the whole world has turned moldy on

me! I am beginning to think this is apartment problem since I do

not remember visiting people's home and thinking that they smelled.

Perhaps both tenants and landlords don't care too much about

apartment like they would their own homes as I have found it

*extremely* hard to even find a clean -smelling- apartment.
