Yayyyyyyyy!!!!! I'm so glad you're back, Beth. You were missed.

I'm also glad you have your own group as well. We can post to both.

I am glad you are ok, Elaine. I know my Aunt in WA went through much the same thing...all her tests showed nothing wrong tho. But she knew there was and finally got a dr who listened to her and said the symptoms definitely indicated a problem no matter what the tests showed. She had to have 2 stints put in, and feels much better now.

Your frustration comes through so clearly, Elaine, and as an intensive care nurse of twenty-odd years, I can validate everything you say. There is so much that needs fixing in our health care system. So much of what doctors do is aimed at making money and avoiding liability. Not necessarily their fault, more the sysyem they fall into. Many start out with high ideals which get worn down by the system.

Bottom line, though, is that you did get that artery stented, and, hopefully, are on the road to good health.

I agree with you, prayers help, and, most surely, you had the prayers of many. Many, now, are giving thanks on your behalf.

W.

I'm back

Hello everyone.Things went well and I know your prayers had a lot to do with that. Thanks so much.My artery was 99% blocked so I got there none too soon. The doctorsand staff were very nice. I was told that my other arteries are ingood shape and with the new medicated stents, I shouldn't haveproblems again. I'm still having symptoms but I think they will clearout soon.I've had symptoms for a long time. It was not only difficult to getmy doctor (I don't think he believed me) to take the appropriatetests, he went away for over a month (he's still gone) and I couldn'tget the results of the stress test. I did find out a blood testshowed there was something wrong with my heart and even though it wasthree times over normal, the doctor insisted it wasn't high enough toreally show a problem. Even though someone knew the results of thatstress test, they didn't feel they had to contact me. I had to keeppounding away at them and they all got mad at me and acted like theydidn't have to do anything because I was the bad person who wasirritating them. They kept telling me that if I had a problem, to goto the ER, even after I informed them that my sister and my fatherhadn't had time to go to the ER when they died of heart problems (mysister was my age when she died), plus, my previous ER visits wereawful and I was always told they couldn't find a problem (didn't theypay attention in class when they were learning their jobs?).Then I had to wait for an appt to see a doctor, then to see acardiologist then for the hospital appt. The whole time, even thoughI had symptoms and was angry they weren't paying attention to me, Iworried the symptoms weren't enough and maybe it was just anxiety as Ihave a lot of that from many different directions. So it was all veryhard. Much harder than it should have been.I don't have a job (but I'm looking so hard for one) so I have to havemedical treatment by the county hospital. I'm thankful to get themedication I need and other treatment, but it shouldn't be like this. I also think about the people who don't get any treatment at all. Many of the jobs I can apply for don't offer medical benefits but ifI'm working, I won't be able to get the county medical. I can't gowithout medical care so it's a terrible quandary. This is a wonderfulcountry but there is so much that needs to be improved. Thanks again for all your prayers and thoughts.Elaine

Elaine...

I am so sorry you had to go through all that. Some doctors act like they are God...know it alls that won't give you a referral to a specialist. You would think it is coming out of their own pockets. I almost died while waiting for a doctor to make the correct diagnosis. I ended up in the ER and found a great doctor who was a surgeon. He said some doctors have tunnel vision when it comes to making a diagnosis. I really wouldn't have minded except on my last visit to my old doctor he prescribed xanax for me...grrrrrrr lol Welcome back Elaine. Hopefully it will be smooth sailing for you from now on.

Beth,

So glad to hear you are back. Sorry I took so long to

respond, but my computer needed a vacation. It went

to spend a few days with the 'geek squad'. lol

I have about 400 emails so it will take me a few days

to catch up with everyone. Bear with me.
