I can "change" my husband... for another one... change here is letting him to pick another one!!... lol I love joking, but I think it would be better for me to work seriously in another kind of business... Now I'm thinking about starting a very humble "hotel reservations agency" having my own web page and getting it very atractivly designed. Let's see.... I gotta think about the inicial investment and how to convince my mother to lend me the money...... If I'll have it, this group will be the first to be invited to visit it... Guest guest
For the average over weight or obese person. I still think a wide variety of food consumed and a moderate exercise plan is the best way to go. Don't double up with the same type of food wether it is refined or natural. Don't over exercise untill your muscles are conditioned. Most Government health department meal planning and daily food - vitamin - minerals intake guidlines will be better for you. Stay away from processed foods, diet pills, deserts loaded with sugar, and cooking with oil. Over use of vitamine supplements without a Doctor's advice is not wise. Diet plans that do not include a wide variety of food should not be used. Over use of health food store supplements without a Doctor's advice is not wise. A trip to the health food store and it's extra cost won't be better than eating a wide variety of food. It is much better to be eating properly and exercise moderately than overly worried about weight problems and illness. Weight problems and illness go away with a variety of food consumed and moderate exercise. Serious health problem should be checked by a Doctor. Try a bit of everything. I'll never go back to icecream, or icecream toppings, unless it is a special occaision visiting someone's home or out with a gathering at a resturant. I do not care how much I weigh, and I am not worried about lowering my weight. That comes as a by product of eating wise and exercise wise. That's all I have need hope about, exercise and a wide variety of food. don't be fooled into thinking otherwise.

Guest guest
Dear there are some really good books on getting out of debt which I think will make a lot of people financially Free. One is " The Four Laws of Debt Free Prosperity " And the Total Money MakeOver " . I have both books but have only read the first.. Alot of people buy lottery tickets to Win the Big One and could easily become financially Independent and even wealthy if they chose. I also read a book called Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill and Dr. Hill list 12 keys to Real Riches and money was the last on the list. I would be glad to pass them on - one at a time. Guest guest
Hi Carl, I follow Dave Ramsey's plan, THE TOTAL MONEY MAKEOVER Best book ever and has made a huge difference in my life. I just want to share with others how wonderful it feels when you pay down debt and have more money in your pocket. I am a housewife and a mom to three teens. Money is tight but we decided along time ago that me being home to raise our sons and to know what they were doing after school was the more important to us then having "stuff". Guest guest
Hi in Texas Can you Imagine what life must be like in a world where there would be no debt. There probably would be no or almost no inflation and people would base their desires in terms of work(money) which they have and not spending money(work) which they have not. I read a book once which has been printed but not published called The Purple button or " As good as it gets " by an eccentric gentleman who lived down near Belleville Ontario. In the book Anything you bought was paid for in goodwill. It was kind of a weird book and actually went in a complete circle from beginning to end. The Author has been interviewed by a local Tv Channel and may now even be Deceased. It sat on a shelf for 40 years until a friend saw it and read it and decided to have 300 copies printed. I was given a copy and due to several moves I can no longer find it. I think we could be a world power if we could all get out of debt. Take care. Guest guest
Those are great books I highly recommend Rich Dad Poor dad to people with kids nearing middle school age. This man wants to know if he should buy his son a car or let his son buy it. Either way the man is concerned because he doesnt want his son's economic focus to be on paying for a car. His concern about letting his son pay for the car is that it will take away all his savings and he will likely graduate high school with no savings, which is something very important dad has been trying to tell him. But dad worries he'll make it too easy on his kid if he buys the car for him so he is stuck. So the author suggests to him giving the kid a certain amount of money and teaching the kid how to invest it and if the kid makes a profit he can buy the car and still have money let. The kid ends up having so much fun playing with the money and learning how to invest he passes on even buying the car. His new hobby of learning how to invest his money is more fun then the car. Any that's just my summary of an incident in the book I thought was a really great learning example. i wish i had read these books a very long time ago! this stuff should be mandatory learning for 12 year olds and repeated by sophmore year in high school. we'd all have a lot less consumer debt! laurie > > Dear there are some really good books on getting out of debt which I > think will make a lot of people financially Free. Guest guest
Carl - Ignore my previous question, I just read that you are an independent business man...you help people get out of debt. That really is a noble calling... As the great Buddha said, "The cause of suffering is Greed." Beth CARL FRENCH wrote: Beth, you really missed your calling. you should have been a comedienne. Your humor is priceless. Actually most of do go in circles and we call it living instead of designing a lifestyle and going forwards. We all rationalize( telling rational lies) that this is important and that is important and we have to visit friends, but what is more important than helping others have a better way of life. I don't just mean having more money. That is not always the answer. Helping others living a healthier life by eating better, exercising more and smelling the fresh air the Good Lord gave us. One of the biggest causes of stress is lack of money and most people think they are going to win the big lottery and be free as a bird. The opposite is more accurate in most cases. The other problem is we want things now instead of waiting for them. We are a wanting animal which is not a bad thing in some cases( like food and water) but pushed to extremes it causes stress which causes illness which causes shorter lives. I am an independent business owner and I have found a way of helping people get out of debt, make some money and make a difference in the lives of others and I hope to encourage others to do the same. It is my chief aim in life to help people and in turn be helped by others and it is working to this very day as we type our lives on a computer screen and send it out to the people who matter most. Guest guest
Dear Beth, I get more enjoyment out of helping others. What I would really like to know is - If our purpose is to help others what are others' purpose.(LOL) I have also done a bone marrow transplant which was successful. The doctors in charge told me that I had my best side showing during the whole procedure. (LOL) I believe the Lord blesses those that bless others. He died save us and the least we can do is pass on the blessing. Most of us work hard and unfortunately we work for somebody else and not for our selves. If more people read positive uplifting books and not the news paper we would all be better off. Now that you're retired and not teaching what do you read. Just Curious. Guest guest
If I had a large house, i'd invite hundreds of people. everyone needs hope. the only reason i care about money is because I dont want to retire in poverty like all of my family and nearly everyone i know. otherwise, other than really enjoying a dry roof and heat (things I have not always had) I really dont care too much. didnt you say you were looking forward to finding a job andrea? laurie -- In thefatmanwalking_group , Betz wrote: > > Carl: > www.richdad.com made me feel really sad...... > What kind of person am I? Guest guest
OH , I am so sorry to hear that...I am sorry that we all hear so much of that these days...my words are so inadequate - what you and your husband must have gone through...and hundreds, no thousands of others. All the more reason why we must make each minute count...each relationship true and kind, and each connection real. And I really mean it when I say come see me. Guest guest
Dear Beth, I think it should be the other way around. I am humbled to know you. You have presented a whole other side I didn't even know about. A person who reads the kind of books you read is obviously a very special person. Guest guest
Carl, I am not worthy, really. But for the purpose of this website, and weightloss...and for people that eat for emotional reasons...I want to add a book to Steve's book list - It's "She's Come UnDone" by Wally Lamb...and he came up with the name from the old song by The Guess Who I think....(only if you're a child of the 60's will you remember that song)It's a great book about a young girl/woman's journey. Any emotional eater would like this book and relate ... I think. Beth CARL FRENCH wrote: Dear Beth, I think it should be the other way around. I am humbled to know you. Guest guest
Thanks Beth, I have a lady friend in Didsbury Alberta (near Calgary) who might get a some comfort out of that book. I will forward this to her and let you know her comments. She is a big girl as a result of a thyroid problem and also a very committed Christian. I will be off the " air " soon as it is nearly time for bed and I have not done much reading since I started communicating with you guys. Guest guest
Hi Joann, My only advice I can offer is obtain some tomatoe Juice and V8 juice, or other vegetable beverages, I use soya drinks, fruit juice, etcetera. Cola drinks have caffine and causes withdrawal symptoms, but in actual fact the body needs more minerals to be pepped up. The soft drink makers use caffine so the customer always returns to their product. Drinking vegetable juices and fruit juices or coconut milk drinks makes more sense. These drinks can be found in ethnic food stores especially south east asia stores. My local food store carries these products due to the high ethnic population in my area. I drink alot of grape juice. Red grape juice is the best. I take the concord grape juice. (blue-purple grape) most of the time, but that's just my tasebuds talking and not my nutrition expert talking. And i like coffee but not clola. Regards - Billjoann burleyson wrote: wow ,thank you for this,, i am on a new adventure in my life ,,, praying to have lost quite a bit of weight before july 2007 when i will turn 40,, but as for now,,my goal is daily, excercise everyday, even if its only 20-30 minutes, and watch my carb intake, and soda intake, and consume as much water as possible i am feeling pretty good tonight, thankful for the last three days of my new attitude,, praying it continues, but again, one day at a time! Blessings to you Joannwuregan wrote: For the average over weight or obese person.I still think a wide variety of food consumed and a moderate exercise plan is the best way to go. Don't double up with the same type of food wether it is refined or natural. Don't over exercise untill your muscles are conditioned. Most Government health department meal planning and daily food - vitamin - minerals intake guidlines will be better for you.Stay away from processed foods, diet pills, deserts loaded with sugar, and cooking with oil. Over use of vitamine supplements without a Doctor's advice is not wise. Diet plans that do not include a wide variety of food should not be used. Over use of health food store supplements without a Doctor's advice is not wise.A trip to the health food store and it's extra cost won't be better than eating a wide variety of food.It is much better to be eating properly and exercise moderately than overly worried about weight problems and illness. Weight problems and illness go away with a variety of food consumed and moderate exercise. Serious health problem should be checked by a Doctor. Try a bit of everything.I'll never go back to icecream, or icecream toppings, unless it is a special occaision visiting someone's home or out with a gathering at a resturant.I do not care how much I weigh, and I am not worried about lowering my weight. That comes as a by product of eating wise and exercise wise. That's all I have need hope about, exercise and a wide variety of food.don't be fooled into thinking otherwise. Guest guest
I loved that book. I still wonder how a man can so well know what it was like to be an overweight teenage girl, no matter how many sisters the author has (he has said that's how he knows). Somehow he does know. Wally Lamb is a terrific author. Elaine > > Carl, > I am not worthy, really.
